5 days of transitional outfits to try
Embracing transitional looks this week to get me out of my post holiday style rut!
If you’ve been following my Insta posts this week, you’ll know I returned from holiday feeling a bit uninspired by my wardrobe. I’d been loving my holiday outfits, fully embracing the summer vibes, but when I got back to chilly Melbourne—freezing in my sandals—I suddenly felt lost on what to wear! And when my clothes aren’t working, it really impacts my mood. So, I set out to rediscover my style and find some fun outfit combos to get excited about spring again. If this unpredictable spring weather (or autumn if you’re in the NH) has left you feeling the same, then this post is for you!
Transitional dressing from winter to spring can be tricky, especially in Melbourne—famously known for its “four seasons in one day.” Layering is key, but finding the balance between warmth and breathability can feel challenging. And let’s be honest, transitioning into spring pieces like lighter fabrics or brighter colours after months of heavier textures and darker tones can feel awkward at first.
But this week, my outfits have made me excited about dressing for the season! The fun part about spring is mixing the best of both worlds: cozy winter staples like knitwear and jackets paired with spring touches like sandals, tees, and skirts. It’s a perfect time to experiment with layering, play with textures, and create fresh looks with pieces you already love from both seasons. The unpredictable weather keeps things interesting too—one day it’s all about chunky sweaters, and the next, you’re pulling out a flowy dress. It’s a great opportunity to refresh your wardrobe and get excited for the warmer days ahead!
Here are 5 days of transitional outfits I actually wore this week. I’ve linked the pieces where I can, but chances are, you’ve already got similar items in your wardrobe that you can style too!
