Everything I wore last week | 04
This week's roundup is full of winter outfit formulas that are going to take me through this season and a gem of a dress that I rediscovered in my wardrobe!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕ STRIPED TOP ➕ SHACKET ➕ PUFFER COAT ➕ CONVERSE HIGH TOPS
Coat, similar / jeans / shacket/ top / sunnies / converse, similar
Outfit Details…I spent a sunny public holiday at Melbourne's beautiful Botanical Gardens on Monday. I went for comfort without going full athleisure, and opeted for jeans and my Sezane Will jacket (ecru). I haven’t worn this Shacket since the weather turned cooler - but always up for the challenge, I layered it with a striped long-sleeve top, rolling up the sleeves to show off the stripes and breaking up the cream block of colour and leaving a few buttons undone for a relaxed vibe - I really loved how it turned out! Neutral Converse high tops and a long puffer coat completed the look, keeping me warm to chase the kids around in!
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕ BLACK COAT ➕ BOOTS
dress, similar / black coat / boots / bag, similar / necklace
Outfit Details…For days in the office, I'm trying to switch things up from my usual go-to jeans, and Tuesday was all about the dress! I recently bit the bullet and did a wardrobe clear-out (it’s been on my to-do list for weeks!) and I rediscovered this green linen Seed Heritage dress I bought while pregnant with my third baby. I'd only worn it a handful of times before it no longer fit, but Tuesday was its comeback! The dress has lovely details like balloon sleeves, a high neck collar, and simple ruffles, so I kept the styling simple. I paired it with black leather ankle boots (anyone else love a dress-and-boots combo?) and added black tights and an oversized black coat to tie the look together on a chilly morning.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕ TEE ➕ CARDIGAN ➕ OVERSIZED WOOL COAT ➕ CONVERSE HIGH TOPS
Jeans, similar / tee / cardigan / oversized wool coat, similar colour / converse, similar / necklace
Outfit Details….anyone else have a day that feels a little more stressful than it should be? Well Wednesday is that day for me. So I definitely need an outfit that doesn’t take much thought, and this is where my trusty jeans and a tee combo always come in! I started from there and added the layers to make it winter appropriate - neutral wool cardigan, and then my trusty styling trick to make an outfit feel elevated & put together - add an oversized coat! It does the trick every time! Popped on my neural Converse High Tops (these are getting a workout this week!!) and I was ready to go!
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = TRACK PANTS ➕ SWEATER ➕ OVERSIZED WOOL COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
track pants / sweater / oversized wool coat, similar colour / sneakers, similar
Outfit Details…I had the worst night’s sleep on Wednesday night and didn’t wake up feeling very refreshed on Thursday! Luckily, I was working from home all day and it was such a gloomy day in Melbourne, so I opted for a super simple and comfy ensemble! If you ever find yourself struggling to spruce up athleisure, here's a trick I've been using: start with a monochrome base (like I did with black on Thursday), then layer on a contrasting colour as the third piece (I chose my oversized camel wool coat). It instantly transforms your look into something polished and stylish!
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕STRIPED SWEATER ➕ BOMBER JACKET ➕ BROWN ANKLE BOOTS
jeans, similar / striped sweater / bomber jacket / ankle boots, similar / bag / necklace / sunnies
Outfit Details…The end of the week couldn’t come soon enough! I had to head into the office, but I kept my outfit relatively casual. Lately, I’ve been loving wide-leg cropped jeans with ankle boots, and on Friday, I paired them with a striped sweater from Sézane (who doesn’t love a striped top?!). I knew I wouldn’t be spending much time outside, so instead of a thick winter coat I threw on my preloved green bomber jacket from COS—one of my best secondhand finds this season! I’ve been trying to find some alternatives for you, but I’m struggling! I completed the look with my brown suede Arket bag and some gold simple jewellery.
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS➕TEE ➕ DENIM SHACKET ➕ SNEAKERS
Jeans, similar / tee / denim shacket / sneakers
Outfit Details…The sun was finally shining in Melbourne on Saturday, so after a workout and repeatedly shouting at the kids to get ready and put on their shoes, we headed down to the beach for a lovely walk. There’s something magical about being by the water when the sun is shining.
I opted for my wide-leg, baggy jeans that I recently picked up preloved and I am really loving this more relaxed fit. To take a break from sweaters, I paired them with a black tee and my denim shacket from Ceres Life. I popped on my black Converse high-tops to match the tee and grabbed my big puffer coat, because it’s still winter and was quite chilly by the water!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS CREW NECK SWEATER ➕SNEAKERS
Jeans, similar / sweater / sneakers / necklace / bracelet
Outfit Details…Sunday was another casual, relaxing day. The sun was shining again, so we decided to make the most of it and head out for a family walk. While I usually enjoy dressing up a bit, there are times when a practical outfit is more suitable, especially when you have kids. On those occasions, I really rely on simple outfit formulas, like a pair of jeans and a crew neck sweater. It offers comfort and practicality while still giving the impression that I put effort into my appearance - and who isn’t all about that!!
Thanks as always for so reading! I had lots of fun pulling this together, I hope you enjoyed it too! If you have any questions or comments about any of the outfits, drop me a note below. Feel free to share it with anyone else who might find it inspiring!
