Everything I wore last week | 07
Jeans & sweaters on repeat and a couple of my best secondhand purchases to date!
Some weeks, I enjoy venturing away from denim, but last week wasn't one of them—and I'm totally okay with that! With the kids on school holidays, I needed comfy, practical outfits.
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕ BLOUSE ➕ BLACK COAT ➕ BOOTS
coat / blouse / jeans, similar / boots / belt, similar
Outfit Details…On Monday, I had a day full of meetings at the office. Normally, I avoid wearing jeans to work, but since it was the school holidays, I opted for a more relaxed look. To keep it office-appropriate, I paired the jeans with my Unison blouse that I recently picked up in a sale (I also bought the matching pants!). The silky, dressier feel of the blouse help to elevate the outfit. I finished the look with black accessories—a coat, bag, and boots—which tied everything together.
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕ STRIPED KNIT ➕ BAG ➕ SNEAKERS
jeans, similar / sweater / bag, similar / sneakers
Outfit Details…Tuesday in Melbourne was pretty miserable and wet—always tricky when the kids are off school! I chose the comfiest outfit for working from home that also worked for running a few errands with the kids. This is where my new Arket striped knit came in (honestly, my new favorite purchase!). In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a striped knit. I paired it with my relaxed jeans and Converse High Tops, which are my go-to casual winter footwear. I also used my cute mini St Agni bag that I recently bought on Depop for an upcoming holiday—it was perfect for running around since I didn't need a huge bag!
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕ SWEATER TWEED COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
jeans / tweed coat, similar / crew neck sweater / boots
Outfit Details…My kids and I headed out for a morning café date on Wednesday, and I'm glad we all bundled up because it was absolutely freezing! My chai latte and tweed coat definitely helped keep me warm. I opted for my Assembly Label Signature Skim jeans with a khaki crew neck sweater, and the tweed jacket and black ankle boots elevated the whole look. Adding a stylish coat in the colder months is a surefire way to create a fabulous outfit, even with a basic ensemble underneath!
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕ SWEATER ➕ BLAZER ➕ WOVEN FLATS
jeans/ sweater / blazer, similar / bag, similar / woven flats, similar / scarf
Outfit Details…I recently bought this black oversized Dissh blazer on Depop (it was brand new with tags!) and I've been itching to wear it again. I've been saving tons of winter blazer outfit ideas on Pinterest and was eager to replicate one for a day at the office. The oversized silhouette of the blazer elevates a pair of jeans so well. To make it more winter-appropriate, I added a black super warm wool scarf. The icing on the cake for this outfit were these amazing St. Agni tan woven flats—I honestly think they're one of my best secondhand finds! They were almost brand new and only $35 and when I spotted them on Depop, I couldn’t resist adding them to my basket!
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BLACK PANTS ➕ STRIPED TOP ➕ SNEAKERS ➕ OVERSIZED WOOL COAT
black pants / striped top, similar / oversized wool coat, similar colour / bag / sneakers / necklace / sunnies
Outfit Details…I had the best time with my eldest two on Friday when we headed to the cinema for a school holiday treat. I started the day in athleisure wear for a morning beach walk but was keen to change into something a bit more polished for our cinema trip. Cue one of my winter go-to outfit formulas: black wide-leg pants, a striped long-sleeve top, Converse, and an oversized wool coat. This is such an easy, repeatable outfit for when you want to look a little more put-together and polished!
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ PUFFER COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
jeans / crew neck sweater / puffer coat, similar / sneakers / necklace
Outfit Details…I'd be lying if I said I wasn't in my PJs until the afternoon on Saturday. I just wasn't feeling it, and I'm not really sure why. It was probably a combination of the kids' school holidays, being busy at work, and a house that honestly looked like we'd been burgled. So, I spent a good portion of the day trying to tackle a mountain of chores. I finally decided to change out of my PJs, and I'm so glad I did. Getting dressed is one of those things that instantly lifts my mood. My outfit was nothing special—just jeans, a crew neck sweater, and Converse—but it was perfectly comfortable for a family trip to the park, and that's just what I needed! Does anyone else have days like this?
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕SWEATER
jeans, similar / sweater / necklace
Outfit Details…We had a family outing to the swimming baths on Sunday morning, which was so much fun! I wore my cream two-piece athleisure set from Fine Day—it was definitely the perfect choice! The afternoon was pretty chilled, which we all before the kids go back to school tomorrow. I needed to run a couple of errands and so I changed into my go-to outfit for colder weather: jeans and a cozy sweater. Comfort was key!
As always, thank you to each and every one of you who has read this week's outfit recap! I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.
