The Last Week of Spring: New Linen Loves, Elevated Outfit Formulas, and I Took the Plunge and Got a New Hair Cut!
Hello lovely people!
I can hardly believe it’s already December—has this year flown by for anyone else? Living in Australia, I’m still getting used to the idea that December means summer, not winter (any fellow Brits out there feel the same?). And with the arrival of summer comes silly season—a whirlwind of events, to-dos, and festive chaos.
I find this time of year always feels a little overwhelming. Between the madness of Black Friday sales, planning a birthday for my little one, Christmas shopping I haven’t even started, and the fast-approaching end of the school year, it’s a lot to juggle.
Alright, enough about the never-ending Christmas to-do list—let’s dive into last week’s outfits! I kept things simple and didn’t overthink my looks, and as I scrolled back through my Indyx app to put this Substack together, I realised I’m pretty pleased with what I wore. In fact, there are a few outfits I’ll definitely be repeating soon!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BLACK A-LINE DRESS ➕ SHACKET ➕SANDALS
outfit links, Saint & Sofia dress*
Outfit Details…I headed into the office on Monday for a few meetings, though sadly I didn’t get to enjoy much of the gorgeous weather! Mondays are always a bit of a rush in our house, so I kept my outfit simple and easy, opting for my black Saint & Sofia A-line dress (*kindly gifted). It’s one of those pieces that’s effortlessly stylish, and every time I wear it, I feel amazing—don’t you just love when clothes do that?
This time, I paired it with my Sezane ecru shacket, brown sandals, and my suede bag for a polished yet relaxed look. Such an easy formula, and one I’ll definitely be repeating!
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕BLOUSE ➕ MULES
outfit links, blouse is old from Sezane
Outfit Details…Another day in the office meant another morning of rushing to get out the door, so I stuck to a tried-and-true formula: jeans and a nice top! My Everlane barrel jeans came through yet again—one of my most popular items on my LTK page, and for good reason. They’re incredibly versatile and such a flattering fit!
I paired them with a Sezane blouse (because who can resist a statement sleeve like this?), which had been hiding in my ironing basket for far too long (anyone else’s ironing pile rival Mount Everest?). To keep the look simple and polished, I finished with my trusty black mules. A combo I’ll be reaching for again, no doubt!
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕KNITTED TEE ➕SNEAKERS
outfit links, Assembly Label knitted tee (last season), bag bought in Bali
Outfit Details…Wednesday was a WFH day, but before diving into work, I had to grab my current (non) coffee obsession: an iced almond chai latte (a mouthful to order, but absolutely worth it!). With my favourite drink in hand and an outfit I’ll definitely be repeating, it was the perfect start to hump day.
This knitted tee from the Assembly Label warehouse sale has turned out to be such a versatile piece. It’s the perfect upgrade from a basic tee—adding texture and feeling just a bit more polished. I kept things casual with wide-leg jeans and my Adidas Sambas, and for a fun little detail, I matched them with my green earrings from Mingled. Simple, comfy, and just the right amount of put-together!
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ STRIPED TEE ➕SANDALS
outfit links, bag bought in Bali
Outfit Details…One of my simplest outfits last week—and honestly, one of my favourites! There’s something so satisfying about keeping things simple, don’t you think? These barrel jeans proved their versatility yet again—perfect for a WFH day and sneaking in lunchtime errands between torrential thunderstorms.
But you know what really made the outfit for me? The bag. I’m obsessed with how it elevated such a basic look, making it feel so effortless yet put-together. It’s a reminder of the power of great accessories to transform even the simplest outfits!
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTS ➕ LINEN SHIRT ➕ BIRKENSTOCKS
outfit links , Saint & Sofia bag*, linen shirt*
Outfit Details…Friday was an absolute stunner—we’ve been so lucky with this stretch of beautiful weather! I made the most of it with my go-to warm-weather outfit formula: denim shorts and a white shirt. It’s such a simple combo, but there’s something effortlessly polished about it.
I’ve been loving A-line denim shorts lately (these are from Ceres Life, last season)—they’re super flattering, and the longer length makes them feel perfect for a variety of occasions. My white linen shirt (*kindly gifted from Not Perfect Linen) was the ideal lightweight, casual choice for a day WFH. I finished the look with my new favourite Birkenstocks (a spring investment I’m so glad I made) and added a touch of warmth and texture with my Saint & Sofia burgundy crossover bag (*kindly gifted), which I absolutely adore.
This outfit also made its way to the hairdresser later that day—and if you’ve seen my latest reel, you’ll know I took the plunge and chopped all my hair off. I’m so glad I did—I love it!
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS➕ LINEN TOP ➕ CASHMERE SWEATER ➕ SANDALS
outfit links, linen top (moss green)*
Outfit Details…I love making the kids’ birthdays extra special—honestly, I’m just a big kid when it comes to birthday planning! Last weekend we had some early birthday celebrations for my youngest turning three with a family trip to the Melbourne Sealife Centre on a very wet and stormy day. Despite the weather, we had the best time—it was such a special outing.
Knowing I’d be running around after three kids, I went for a comfy yet elevated look. Wide-leg jeans paired with a gorgeous linen top from Not Perfect Linen (*kindly gifted), which I’m absolutely obsessed with—the colour and fit are perfection! For an extra layer, I added my Uniqlo cashmere sweater in a neutral tone, which always takes an outfit up a notch. I kept the rest of the look super casual with a brown suede bag and matching sandals. Practical, stylish, and perfect for the day!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN PANTS ➕BLOUSE➕OVERSIZED DENIM JACKET / SANDALS
outfit links, blouse old M&S
Outfit details…I signed up for a 5km walk for Beyond Blue, and after a relaxing morning with my littlest one—complete with a chai and babyccino stop at a cool café—tram delays meant we literally had to sprint to the start line! Thankfully, we made it and finished in good time.
I wore my one Black Friday splurge (not even on sale) a pair of Lululemon Align leggings, and they didn’t disappoint—perfect fit and so comfy. Back home, I switched to an easy outfit for last-minute birthday errands: wide-leg linen pants, a leopard-print blouse (old from M&S), sandals, and my Levi’s oversized trucker jacket.
That’s a wrap on another week! Thank you so much for reading my Substack and following along—it truly means the world to me. If you have any questions about last week’s outfits, drop a note below. And if you know someone who could use a little wardrobe inspiration, feel free to share this post with them. Until next time!

Last week felt never-ending—anyone else?! I’m counting down to the Christmas break, even though I’m completely unprepared (so maybe not too fast!). Black Friday FOMO vs. My Slow Fashion Soul: A Battle for the Ages
Black Friday sales are everywhere, and yet, I’m struggling. The overwhelm is real—emails pouring in, flashy ads promising everything I never knew I needed. And then there’s the inner conflict: I’ve worked hard to curate a thoughtful wardrobe, focusing on timeless pieces, secondhand treasures, and slow fashion. Diving headfirst into the frenzy feels so a…

Great looks as per! Summer in December would throw me off too 😂 We did on Christmas in the UAE as my parents were living there for a few years and it was weird eating Yorkshire puddings in 25 degrees ✨🥹
