Everything I wore last week | 26
Another week of summer style! This one featured two stunning preloved statement dresses I’m obsessed with, plus a few old favourites I hadn’t reached for in a while.
Hello lovely people!
Another week has flown by in the blink of an eye! It was a busy one juggling work, kids, and social events (yes, I ended up back at the AO on Monday!). My outfits ranged from super comfy weekend looks to practical WFH fits and a couple of ultra-fancy ensembles.
Let’s dive straight into the details behind the looks!
MONDAY DAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕ SANDALS

Outfit Details…I had the day off work and was determined to get the kids out of the house to enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful weather. So, we packed up and headed to the Melbourne Botanical Gardens for a picnic, some playtime, and, of course, ice cream—a perfect day all around!
Originally, I threw on my Everlane barrel jeans, but they just didn’t feel right. I wanted something looser and more relaxed. That’s when my Daughters of India Poet mini dress caught my eye. It’s effortlessly easy to wear and just what I needed. I paired it with my brown sandals, and we were good to go!
MONDAY NIGHT
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕DENIM JACKET ➕ SANDALS

Outfit Details…If you caught last week’s Substack, you’ll know one of my favourite times of the year in Melbourne is the Australian Open. On Monday night, I had tickets with my girlfriends—a totally different vibe from taking the kids on Sunday! It was all about soaking up the atmosphere, enjoying the gorgeous evening with food, drinks, and, of course, great tennis.
When I found out I’d be heading to an evening session, I immediately knew I wanted to wear my Roame mini dress, it’s just as stunning IRL—perfect for a night of tennis. I styled it with my oversized denim jacket for when the night turned cooler (and for the train ride home!), keeping accessories simple with a brown bag and sandals to let the dress shine.
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕STRIPED CROP TEE ➕ BLAZER ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…On Tuesday, I headed into the office in my usual rush and reached for my freshly laundered ecru wide-leg jeans and a black-and-white cropped tee—an easy combo when time is tight! Since you never know whether our office will be freezing or boiling, I threw on my black oversized blazer to pull the whole look together. To keep things coordinated, I slipped on my Hush Puppies* black sandals, which tied in perfectly with the blazer, and grabbed my large black leather bag to carry all my work essentials.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN PANTS ➕TANK ➕DENIM SHACKET ➕ THONGS
Outfit Details… On Wednesday, I found myself reaching for my wide-leg cream linen pants—truth be told, I bought these for my Bali trip (wore them once before stepping into a puddle and haven’t touched them since). I couldn’t figure out why I hadn’t worn them again, so I decided to give them another go while working from home.
I paired them with a simple black tank top, which felt fine—practical for a day in the home office—but something was missing. Do you ever feel that way when you put an outfit on? I took the kids out for sushi, and with a little chill in the air, I grabbed my denim shacket. It completely transformed the look from “just OK” to an outfit I loved! It’s amazing what a great layering piece can do.
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ KNITTED TOP➕ SHACKET ➕ FLATS
Outfit Details…Another day in the office, and I started my outfit with my black-wash barrel jeans—my go-to strategy when I feel overwhelmed deciding what to wear. Starting with one piece and building from there is such a game-changer!
I kept the palette neutral but added some texture with my Assembly Label knitted tee and a pop of fun with my Sezane leopard-print flats. To handle the office’s unpredictable temperatures, my Sezane Will jacket was the perfect finishing layer. The outfit felt effortlessly simple, yet I still felt stylish and put-together.
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN MAXI SKIRT ➕ TEE ➕ SHACKET
Outfit Details…. After wearing my linen pants on Wednesday, I felt inspired to style my linen maxi skirt—another piece I brought to Bali but hadn’t reached for since. Determined to make it the star of the outfit, I kept things simple for a work-from-home day, pairing it with my favourite white tee and rose gold Saltwater Sandals. I’ll admit, I haven’t worn these sandals as much as usual this summer, but I was reminded of how much I love them when I styled them last Saturday with my black mini dress. They’re so comfy, and I always recommend this brand!
I headed out later in the day to run some errands and do daycare pickup, so I threw on my denim shacket and grabbed my large tote bag. The whole look came together so effortlessly—I loved it!
SATURDAY DAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LEGGINGS ➕ TEE ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…the other day, I was telling a friend that I never wear leggings unless I’m exercising—they’re just not my favourite (don’t hate me, I know there are die-hard fans out there!). Honestly, I’d usually choose jeans any day. Fast forward to Saturday, and there I was in full house-cleaning mode (my house seriously needs a massive declutter), so I didn’t get a chance to change out of my leggings. If you’re on the hunt for a great-fitting pair, though, these definitely live up to the hype: the Align High-Rise leggings from Lululemon (linked above).
I kept it simple with a white tee, and when I took my little one out for a walk in the sunshine, I threw on my comfy New Balance 327s. Not my usual outfit, but it was practical and comfy for the day’s tasks!
SATURDAY NIGHT
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕ SANDALS
outfit links, Ulla Johnson dress bought preloved
Outfit Details…Saturday night was date night time, and I couldn’t wait to swap my leggings for something special—the most beautiful dress! If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember this stunning Ulla Johnson dress I tried on at a local consignment store. I loved it but left it behind as it was over budget. My thoughtful husband surprised me with it on Christmas morning—and planned a date night to go with it!
We enjoyed delicious Italian food, and I kept the look simple to let the ruffled dress shine: brown sandals, a wicker bag, and sunnies. Perfect evening, perfect outfit!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = TEE ➕ SHORTS ➕ SANDALS
Outfit details…Sunday morning meant cricket was back after the summer break, so I needed an easy, comfortable outfit to watch my eldest play and keep up with my toddler. These Dissh denim shorts have been such a great preloved summer find! I paired them with a green tee I picked up during our Bali trip for an effortless, summery vibe.
In the afternoon, we headed to the beach, and I gave my new swimsuit its first outing—a preloved (but brand new) Hunza G one-piece that I absolutely loved wearing. I also dusted off a hat I’ve had for ages but rarely used—safe to say, it’s going into regular rotation now!
That’s a wrap on this week’s Substack! Thank you so much for reading and following along—I hope it’s sparked some outfit inspiration for the week ahead. If you know someone who could use a little effortless, repeatable style inspo, feel free to share this Substack with them. Your support means the world!
Until next time!
