Everything I wore last week | 39
A week of the tale of two styles: elevated casual vs. camping chic (if you can call it that!)
Hello lovely readers!
Last week felt like a tale of two halves. The first part was all about casual but elevated outfits that carried me through the final day of the Easter holidays, a day in the office, and a WFH day. The second half was a switch to super casual, warm, and practical looks for a 4-day camping trip!
Let’s dive into a full recap of everything I wore — and I’d love to hear which outfits were your favourites!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS âž• KNITTED VEST âž• SANDALS
Outfit Details…. It was a beautiful Easter Monday, but (rather disappointingly) we had a day of errands and house cleaning ahead to get ready for the week. I threw on my favourite wide-leg jeans and paired them with a knitted vest — an outfit I’ve worn before and love, and, best of all, it didn’t require dragging the iron out of the cupboard!
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS BLOUSE ➕SWEATER➕ FLATS
Outfit Details…on Tuesday, I headed into the office, and as usual, it was a rush getting three kids dropped off at school and kinder. I reached for an outfit I’ve worn (and loved) before, but this time, I mixed things up by layering my well-loved Sézane blouse underneath — it has the cutest collar! Adding that layer helped lift the darker, autumnal jumper, a perfect styling trick for transitional dressing. I finished the look with my tan St. Agni flats to break up the colour palette.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = RELAXED JEANS âž• CARDI âž• TRENCH âž• CONVERSE
Outfit Details…I bought this Assembly Label trench coat on Depop and had been patiently waiting for it to arrive — and on Tuesday, it finally did! Naturally, I had to style it straight away on Wednesday. I kept the base simple with a relaxed pair of jeans, my new Sézane Betty cardigan (a birthday gift from my husband), and a pair of ecru Converse high-tops. I loved how the trench instantly elevated the whole look!
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS âž• KNITTED TEE âž• QUILTED SHACKET âž• CONVERSE
Outfit Details…Thursday marked the shift to ultra-comfy, practical outfits for our camping trip! For the morning school drop-off, I wore my wide-leg jeans, a knitted cream tee, and neutral Converse high-tops as my base, layered with my new (to me) trench coat — I loved how easy and elevated the look felt. After lunch, we finished packing the car (filling every crevice we could find!) and hit the road for the 1.5-hour drive to our campsite. The only change I made to my outfit was swapping the trench coat for a navy quilted jacket I borrowed from my husband’s wardrobe. Once the tent was up, I kicked off my Converse and slipped on my Crocs — easily the best purchase for this camping trip!
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS âž• TEEâž• CREW NECK SWEATER âž• CONVERSE
Outfit Details…Friday was another public holiday here in Victoria, this time to mark ANZAC Day. A group of 22 of us (12 adults and 10 kids!) walked into Warburton in the morning to watch their beautiful ANZAC ceremony and grab a coffee. I kept my outfit pretty simple but chose my favourite barrel jeans to make it feel a little more pulled together. My grey crew-neck sweater was warm and practical, but still helped the outfit feel intentional. I added some cute little socks for a bit of fun. I had every intention of changing for dinner at the pub that evening — but in the end, I couldn’t be bothered and just ran a brush through my hair and popped on some lipstick!
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS âž• BLACK TEE âž• GRAPHIC CREW NECK SWEATER âž• GUM BOOTS
Outfit Details…on Saturday morning, we set off for a beautiful walk among the towering redwood trees — such a spectacular sight, and the kids absolutely loved it! I wore my wide-leg jeans for the third time that week (and I’m not mad about it one bit!), pairing them with my Anine Bing graphic sweater to add a little personality to an otherwise simple, practical outfit. I layered up with my husband’s quilted jacket and finished the look with my favourite Merry People gumboots — the perfect addition to my camping wardrobe!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LEGGINGSâž• TEE âž• CREW NECK SWEATER âž• PUFFER COAT âž• GUM BOOTS
Outfit details…Packing down the tent is definitely not one of my favourite parts of camping… squeezing everything but the kitchen sink back into the car is always a challenge! I knew I needed an outfit that was super comfy for hauling down the tent and packing up the site, so I went with my Lululemon Align leggings, a graphic tee, and a black crew-neck sweater. My trusty Merry People gumboots were perfect for the dirty campsite, and I stayed extra cosy in my big Macpac puffer coat — not the most glamorous look, but honestly, it felt like wearing a giant sleeping bag!
