My spring wish list
& a spring outfit mood board that’s got me excited about the new season!
Now that I’m back after two amazing weeks in Bali, I’m diving into my spring wardrobe and trying to muster some excitement for the new season! To be honest, it’s been a bit of a struggle—I absolutely loved wearing my summer pieces while we were away.
That said, I’ve done a good wardrobe sort and started trying on outfits to create fresh looks for spring I also love putting together a seasonal mood board to spark some inspiration and keep my wardrobe feeling new and exciting!
As you know, I’m all about item and outfit repeating, but there are a few things on my wish list that I think will really bring some of my spring looks to life. Creating a wish list helps me stay more intentional with new purchases and ensures everything fits seamlessly into my wardrobe. Here are a few pieces I’ve been eyeing for a while. Of course, with Melbourne’s unpredictable weather—freezing one minute, 30+ beach days the next—some of these items might get pushed into summer or even autumn!
My spring edit wish list roundup:
1. Cream silk / satin pants
I've been loving these style pants lately! They're incredibly versatile—perfect for working from home or dressing up for a night out. With spring and summer around the corner, I’m eyeing a lighter shade to add to my wardrobe, and I’ve got my eye on these from Arket and these ones from Dissh are gorgeous too!
2. Burgundy loafers
I originally had these earmarked for autumn, but now I’m thinking they’ll be a perfect addition to my spring wardrobe. If you follow Allison Bornstein, you’ve probably heard her talk about the 'wrong shoe theory'—a loafer would be a great choice to style with pieces like shorts, especially on those cooler spring days. Plus, I’m really into the burgundy trend that’s taking off in the northern hemisphere, and these loafers would be a great way to incorporate it. I spotted these from G.H.Bass on Depop and instantly loved them!
3. White linen shirt
I already own a white linen shirt, but to be honest, it’s seen better days—it’s more of an 'off-off-white' now, and I’m leaning towards a more oversized fit. Since I know it’s a staple I’ll wear constantly, I’m ready to invest in a replacement. I’ve heard great things about Arket’s linen, so I’m excited to give this one a try .
4. Tees - warmer tones
After having ChatGPT analyse my colours (have a read here!) I’m excited to start incorporating more into my outfits. A simple and easy way to do this is by adding a colourful tee—it’s not a big investment, but it can completely transform an outfit without making me feel overly vibrant. These Uniqlo tees are my go-to, and the shades align perfectly with my palette.
5. Birkenstock Bostons
I’ve been listing after a pair of Birkenstock Bostons for what feels like forever. I’m not one to chase trends just because they’re popular, but these fit seamlessly into my personal style. As with everything I add to my wardrobe, I’ve already mentally styled them in at least three different outfits! Since they’re an investment, I’m hoping to snag them during a sale. I’m looking for a neutral pair similar to these or these.
6. Knitted sleeveless vest
I tried on this Dissh knitted vest before our trip and loved the fit, but I held off buying it to focus on my holiday wardrobe. I’m already imagining how effortlessly it would pair with wide-leg jeans and other pieces for a more elevated look. It’s such a versatile item that could easily be dressed up! This one from Assembly Label also caught my eye, and this one was cute too!
7. Oatmeal lightweight knitted sweater
This might seem like a basic addition, and you’d probably assume I already own something similar, but it’s actually been a gap in my wardrobe for a while. I’ve been on the hunt for an earthy neutral knit that’s lightweight and perfect for the warmer months. I love Arket’s knitwear and have had my eye on this one for a while.
First stop for all these items will be secondhand shops, so what I end up adding to my wardrobe might look a little different—but that’s part of the fun!
If you are stuck in a spring style rut, I hope this has given a little kick start into finding your style groove for the season!
That’s it for now, keep tuned for more spring outfit ideas here, and on my insta page.
