Recapping March Outfits with Indyx
What I Wore in March: Favourite Looks, Most-Worn Pieces & My Latest Wardrobe Additions
Hello lovely Substack readers!
Can’t believe it’s already time to recap all the outfits I wore last month! Honestly, I’m running a bit behind putting this together—between work, a very full family life with three kids, and a house that’s basically been a revolving door of germs, things have been hectic.
That said, I actually really enjoy compiling this monthly Substack. It’s kind of therapeutic to look back and reflect on which outfits worked, which ones didn’t quite hit the mark, and which pieces ended up being the real MVPs of the month.
March marked the start of autumn here in Melbourne, but the weather was all over the place. We had some really hot days, mixed with those classic autumnal ones where the cooler mornings and evenings started to creep in—so getting dressed each day definitely kept me on my toes!
Transitional dressing is actually one of my favourite times of year when it comes to styling outfits. I love the challenge of mixing warm-weather staples like sandals and shorts with cosier pieces like sweaters, trench coats, and, of course, my beloved Converse. It’s that perfect blend of seasons that makes getting dressed feel creative and fun.
Most-Worn Items of the Month
Here are some of my most worn items in my wardrobe in March. Not too many differences from February…
I’ve linked all the items I can here.
Favourite Outfits
There were a few standout outfits last month that made me feel amazing the moment I put them on — and I’ve been reaching for those same outfit formulas again in April too.
What surprised me, though, is that there actually weren’t any jeans in the mix. For someone who’d happily wear jeans every day, it’s been refreshing to lean into other pieces and still feel just as comfortable and put-together.
Here are the outfits I loved most last month — all easy, wearable, and ones I know I’ll keep repeating.

Wardrobe Insights
March was a month of in-between dressing—summer fading, autumn creeping in. Here’s what stood out in my wardrobe:
Stripes on Repeat
Striped tees and knits were my go-to. Easy, classic, and perfect for layering.
Barrel Jeans = MVP
My Everlane barrel jeans in the washed black got a solid workout. Flattering, comfy, and surprisingly versatile. I’ve worn them so much that I have bought them in the pure blue wash too.
Sneakers Everyday
My two new sneaker purchases - the cream Converse hi-tops, and my brown Adidas SL72 sneakers kept things grounded and mum-life friendly.
Layering Up
Lighter layers like my Sezane cardigan, trench, and denim jacket were perfect for the seasonal shift.
Neutral Core, Green Accents
Black, white, and denim dominated—but green still snuck in. I’m not done with my green era just yet.
Repeat Formulas, Fresh Twists
I wore a lot of similar outfits, but small tweaks—accessories, shoes—kept them feeling new.
New items I added to my wardrobe
I’m keeping track of everything I’ve added to my wardrobe this year—both bought and gifted—to stay mindful and avoid unnecessary purchases. Last month, I started looking ahead to autumn, picking up a few pieces on sale or from Depop that I knew I’d regret missing out on.
Bohemian Traders Shirt Dress
I was kindly gifted this absolutely stunning dress from Bohemian Traders—the Mabel Shirt Dress, and she’s a beauty. The paisley print is so rich and detailed, and I’m obsessed with the contrast rust cuffs and collar. It was the perfect piece for a special final dinner out with my parents—easy, elegant, and just the right amount of standout.
Review Jackets & Skirt (gifted)
I was also kindly gifted three gorgeous pieces from Review—perfect for those crisp autumn days ahead. First up: the Annie Check Trench, which puts such a fun twist on a classic trench. I also have the same check in the cropped jacket, and both pair beautifully with the Yorkville black midi skirt. Super versatile, easy to mix and match, and all three are set to be on heavy rotation in my wardrobe this season.
Sézane Cardigan
If you read my recent Substack—Workhorses vs. Show Ponies—you’ll know I’m on a bit of a mission to add more ‘show ponies’ to my wardrobe. And this cardigan? Definitely one of them. I’m a longtime fan of Sézane knitwear, so when this beauty popped up in the archive sale, I couldn’t add it to cart fast enough.
Converse High-Tops (Ecru)
I saw somewhere that Converse are back in fashion… but honestly, in my eyes, they never left. I already have a couple of pairs, but I’ve had my eye on this colourway for a while. The lighter tone goes with everything—such an easy addition to my wardrobe.
Le Specs Sunglasses
I’ve been meaning to replace my Ray-Ban Black Wayfarers for a while (the arm broke, of course!) and when I saw Le Specs had a 30% off sale, I spotted the Chante pair—perfect replacement. Honestly, such great value for money, and I’ve already worn them loads since they arrived.
Crocs
Okay, so this definitely wasn’t a purchase I ever expected to include in my “bought last month” list… My kids are obsessed with Crocs, but they’ve never really been my thing (I’m a Birkenstocks girl, after all!). That said, with a camping trip coming up, I figured they’d be a practical buy—and I was pleasantly surprised. Super comfy, easy to slip on, and honestly… I kind of get the hype now. I bought them in the linen - a great neutral colourway
Style Goals for April
My style goals for April are all about leaning into my favourite transitional outfit formulas—those easy combinations that just work. I’m focusing on getting even more wear out of a few final warm-weather pieces before the cooler days really set in. With autumn in full swing, I’m also starting to refresh a few looks and slowly work in some of the new A/W pieces I’ve picked up. It’s that in-between moment where layering gets fun again!
