4 Months with the Indyx App: My Honest Thoughts
I finally sat down to reflect on my first few months using the Indyx app—here’s what I thought!
Hello, lovely readers!
If there’s one thing I love, it’s finding new ways to streamline my wardrobe and embrace intentional style. So, when I heard about the Indyx app—a tool that helps you digitally organise and maximise your wardrobe—I was intrigued. Could it really help me make the most of what I own and cut down on outfit overwhelm? Spoiler alert: the answer is yes.
I’ve been using the Indyx app since September, and during the Black Friday sale, I snagged the subscription for just $54 USD—50% off the standard price. Safe to say, I’m hooked!
I wanted to share my experience for anyone curious about how the app works and how it’s reshaping the way I approach my wardrobe and personal style. Spoiler: it’s been an absolute game-changer!
First Impressions: Digitising My Wardrobe
The first step with Indyx was uploading my wardrobe, and I have to say, this was a surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. I laid out each item, snapped a quick photo, and added details like category, colour, price & whether it was secondhand or not. Seeing my wardrobe laid out visually was a total game-changer—it helped me truly see everything I own (and rediscover a few forgotten pieces). It’s worth mentioning that I haven’t uploaded everything from my wardrobe just yet, but I’m almost there. Interestingly, the items I haven’t added are already giving me insight—they’re the ones I rarely (if ever) wear.
It also made me realise a few things about my style:
• I own way more neutrals than I thought.
• I gravitate toward linen and denim (no surprise there!).
• I already have so many versatile pieces—I don’t need to shop nearly as much as I thought.
Outfit Planning: Goodbye, Decision Fatigue
One of my favourite features of Indyx is its ability to help me plan outfits. I can mix and match pieces from my virtual wardrobe to create looks for specific occasions, whether it’s school drop-off, cricket mornings, or an evening out.
For someone who loves outfit repeating, this has been a dream. I’ve been able to save favourite combinations and tweak them slightly to keep things feeling fresh. It’s also helped me think more creatively about how to style items I haven’t reached for in a while.
Sustainability: Shopping with Intention
Another standout benefit of Indyx is how it’s encouraged me to shop more mindfully. By having a clear overview of what I already own, I’ve been able to spot gaps in my wardrobe and focus on filling those rather than making impulse purchases.
Packing Made Easy
I haven’t had a chance to travel much lately, but I can already tell Indyx will be a lifesaver when it comes to packing. By pulling items from my virtual wardrobe, I can plan a capsule for any trip and avoid overpacking (as I usually do!).
My Wardrobe Stats
Since using the Indyx app, I’ve gained some fascinating insights into my wardrobe. Here’s a snapshot of what I’ve discovered so far:
Number of Items: 128 items (currently on the app)
Categories in my wardrobe:
Most Worn Pieces:
Least Worn Pieces:
Favourite Colours:
New vs. Secondhand:
These stats have been incredibly helpful in showing me what’s working in my wardrobe and what could use some tweaking. It’s all about making intentional choices and getting the most out of what I own!
Final Thoughts: A Must-Have for Mindful Style
Indyx has truly transformed the way I think about my wardrobe. It’s helped me:
• Appreciate and utilise what I already own.
• Save time planning outfits.
• Shop with intention.
• Embrace a more sustainable approach to style.
If you’re someone who loves slow fashion, outfit repeating, or just wants to simplify their wardrobe, I can’t recommend Indyx enough. It’s like having a personal stylist and wardrobe assistant all in one.
Have you tried Indyx? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time,
Julia
