Everything I wore last week | 18
So many outfits last week – from minimalist elevated looks, perfect for the warmer weather to an epic rented dress for the races that I can’t stop thinking about!
Last week was a BUSY one! It’s definitely starting to feel like silly season as we move towards summer – it’s a crazy time but it’s my absolute favourite season living in Australia - summer, Christmas and lots of socials gatherings, it’s the best! Last week however, I may have slightly overcommitted to social events: Cup Day celebrations, a city dinner, a Take That concert, Oaks Ladies Day, and, to top it off, a Ronan Keating concert after the races! (Safe to say, I got my full ‘90s fix!) But the sore feet were definitely worth it – so much fun and endless opportunities to play with different outfits! The gorgeous weather has also been an added bonus, which made it even more enjoyable.
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL PANTS ➕ SHIRT ➕DENIM JACKET ➕THONGS
Outfit Details…I picked up these green Everlane barrel pants last autumn, and I’ve been waiting for warmer weather to wear them more often. They’re such a great alternative to jeans and the ideal pant for a WFH day. To add a little polish, I styled them with a classic white button-down, and, for a change, tucked in just one side – surprisingly, I really loved! To complete the look, I reached for my Havaianas – a bit of a surprise, as I haven’t worn them much since returning from Bali. But the green paired perfectly with the pants, and with the sun shining, they were the perfect laid-back choice!
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BLACK LINEN DRESS➕CASHMERE SWEATER ➕SANDALS
Outfit Details…Tuesday was a public holiday in Victoria for Melbourne Cup, and I’m always one to make the most of a day off! We headed to our lovely friends’ place for a Cup Day celebration—I’d love to say I won big and could quit my day job, but sadly, no luck this year (there’s always next time!). It was a gorgeous, warm day spent relaxing in the garden, and my Assembly Label black linen dress was the perfect choice—elevated yet comfortable. I draped my new Uniqlo cashmere sweater over my shoulders, which I can’t recommend enough if you’re looking for a great cashmere option (I even snagged a green one on Depop!). Paired it with my brown sandals, and since I needed to carry all the kids’ stuff, I grabbed my best Bali find: my large woven tote!
WEDNESDAY AM
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕DENIM JACKET ➕ SANDALS ➕

Outfit Details…With a 30+ degree day of offsite meetings ahead, I took the opportunity to wear my new black midi dress, kindly gifted by Saint + Sofia. If you’re a fan of sustainable brands that don’t compromise on style, I’d definitely recommend checking them out! This dress is incredibly comfortable, yet it has that magic of making you feel a million dollars the moment you put it on. I paired it with my oversized denim jacket and Hush Puppies sandals (also previously gifted) – the little wedge heel added a touch of elevation. To break up the black, I reached for my favourite brown suede bag, which I thought added the perfect contrast.
WEDNESDAY PM
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕KNITTED TEE ➕ CASHMERE SWEATER ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…When I only have 10 minutes to get ready, my go-to outfit formula is always jeans and a tee. For dinner in the city (Kiss & Tell never disappoints!), I decided to elevate the look a bit. Instead of a basic tee, I went with my cream knitted tee and layered my new favourite cashmere sweater over it (told you it’s become a staple!). I stuck with the same comfy sandals I wore to work—they’re perfect for all-day wear! This outfit was ideal for a night of singing and dancing at the Take That concert, which was an absolute blast and a true throwback to my ‘90s childhood!
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕ SHOES
Outfit Details…On paper, this was the simplest outfit formula, but there was nothing simple about my look for Thursday’s Oaks Day races! Hands down my favourite look of the week (and my Instagram followers seemed to agree!). As soon as my friends and I decided to attend the races, I knew I’d rent a dress for the occasion. I’ve rented dresses for special events before and can’t imagine buying one again—those pieces just end up sitting in my wardrobe after only a few wears! Alemais is my go-to brand for events like these; their designs are worlds away from my usual casual, minimalist style, but that’s exactly what I love about them. This dress had the most beautiful details and the biggest balloon sleeves you’ve ever seen! I absolutely adored it and felt incredible wearing it all day!
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕ TEE ➕CARDIGAN ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…this look was worlds away from the previous day’s outfit, but I loved it all the same! After a night of dancing and wearing heels (I’m definitely not 20 anymore!), I really wanted a super comfy WFH look on what was a lovely sunny day. My Arket wide-leg jeans are my go-to for maximum comfort, so I paired them with a simple white tee (the Uniqlo ones are my favourite!). For a bit of texture and warmth when I stepped out of the sun, I added my Sezane ecru cardigan - I adore this cardigan, it’s cute and not itchy in the slightest! Since I had a pedicure on Tuesday, it only seemed right to show off my freshly painted toes in my brown sandals!
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS➕ LINEN SHIRT ➕SWEATER ➕BIRKINSTOCKS
Outfit Details…After such a busy week, all I wanted was a full day of sofa lounging, but with three kids, that was wishful thinking! We did manage a slow morning, and I squeezed in some yoga (my body was still aching!), which felt wonderful. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a leisurely family walk for ice cream and watched the local baseball team—such a fun, laid-back outing. Needless to say, I needed a quick power nap when we got home!
Outfit-wise, comfort was key. I reached for my Arket jeans again (I’m all about outfit repeating!) but paired them with my short-sleeve oversized black linen blouse for a relaxed look. I threw on a sweater and denim jacket for some warmth, and, of course, the Birkenstocks made another appearance!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕KNITTED SWEATER ➕SANDALS
Outfit details…spring in Melbourne just keeps on giving...Sunday was another beautiful sunny day, a little chilly out of the sun so I made the most of a knitted sweater and sandals combo - anyone else thinks this is totally underrated combination? I just feel instantly polished when I wear these two items together. I’ve been living in my wide leg jeans, so for a change I went for a straighter (still relaxed) jean and cuffed the bottom as I think it works better with an open toe sandal. The lighter wash denim and the neutral colour of my favourite preloved Zulu & Zephyr knitted sweater went together perfectly. Overall the outfit worked well for a morning watching my son’s cricket match and a chai latte coffee run!

Last week was a busy one, but in a really good way! There was lots of time spent with family & friends, fun activities and some warm weather thrown in for good measure! It also felt like a good week in the style department too - outfits that pushed me out of my comfort zone and I’m fully embracing spring dressing after a little rocky start. I’ve also b…
