Everything I wore last week | 22
A week of summers outfits, from a few causal but elevated looks, to a Christmas party outfit that I’ll be wearing again this season.
Hello lovely people!
Wow, what a whirlwind of a week it was last week! Our social calendar is bursting at the seams, and while I absolutely love the buzz, part of me just wants to hide in a quiet corner—anyone else feel the same?
It’s been busy whether I liked it or not! My little one turned 3 (seriously, how has it been three years already?), and my eldest is just weeks away from finishing primary school. Thursday was all about his Inspirational Journey presentation—and yes, there were tears (mine, of course; he was completely unfazed).
Add in a work Christmas party (any excuse to dress up, right?) and a festive weekend of putting up the tree and cosying up for Christmas movies. Home Alone is always our go-to—what’s yours? All these social events called for some fun outfit moments, especially with the summer heat kicking in here in Melbourne! Let’s dive into the outfits…
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = CROPPED ECRU JEANS ➕ TANK ➕ SWEATER ➕ BIRKENSTOCKS

Outfit Details…Monday was a scorcher, and I couldn’t have been happier to spend the day with my littlest one! We ran errands together, enjoyed a “coffee” while spotting trains at a local café, and then headed home to bake his birthday cake. Days like this—so simple and sweet—are my favourite.
While looking through old outfit photos recently, I realised I hadn’t worn these cropped jeans in ages, so I decided to make them the centerpiece of my outfit. I paired them with a simple black tank and Birkenstocks for an easy, laid-back vibe. To add a pop of colour (I’ve been trying to lean into it more lately), I reached for my latest Depop treasure: a gorgeous green Uniqlo cashmere sweater. Such a fun find!

In the afternoon, I had a quick outfit change before heading down to the beach for a walk and a bit of playtime. I swapped the jeans for a pair of moss-green linen shorts and slipped on my trusty brown Saltwater sandals—always so comfortable and perfect for beachy adventures!
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS ➕LINEN SHIRT ➕ LEOPARD PRINT FLATS
Outfit Details…Tuesday was my littlest one’s birthday, so we were all up at the crack of dawn for presents! It was a whirlwind morning as we rushed to get everyone off to school and work. With so much going on, I kept my outfit simple: classic jeans paired with my trusty short-sleeved black linen blouse (a postpartum purchase that’s still going strong!). To add a little fun to the look, I slipped on my new leopard-print flats from Sezane—they were the perfect playful touch to an otherwise minimal outfit!
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTS ➕SHIRT ➕ KNITTED SWEATER ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…Wednesday was a WFH day, and with another warm, sunny day on the cards, I reached for my stone-coloured denim shorts—such a great Depop find! They’re so easy to style, and this time I paired them with a crisp white button-down and my trusty brown sandals for a simple, effortless look.
It was a little chilly in the shade, so I leaned into one of my favourite warm-weather outfit formulas: shorts and a lightweight knitted sweater. Comfortable, practical, and just the right amount of cosy!
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕ SANDALS
outfit details, dress, earrings
Outfit Details…an incredibly simple outfit formula on paper, but this dress never fails to make me feel amazing every time I wear it! I’ve had this Bundu Textiles kaftan dress for a few years now, and it’s one I keep reaching for again and again (don’t you just love it when a piece becomes such a reliable favourite?!).
Thursday was a busy one—a day at the office followed by my eldest’s school presentation in the evening—so I needed an outfit that could effortlessly carry me through. This dress-and-sandals combo was the perfect choice: comfortable, chic, and totally dependable!
FRIDAY
I started the day off in this simple outfit to grab an iced chai latte…
tee bought in Bali, denim shorts Ceres Life (last season) sunglasses, shoes
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN MINI DRESS ➕ SANDALS
outfit details, Roame dress bought preloved
Outfit Details…Friday was my work Christmas party—a beautiful lunch with stunning beach views, so no complaints there! The day started off hot, but true to Melbourne’s unpredictable weather, a cool change rolled in by the afternoon. Thankfully, my outfit choice worked perfectly for both!
Dressing for holiday events in Australia always feels a little tricky to me. Back in the UK, I’d gravitate toward darker tones and a touch of sparkle. But here, with summer in full swing, it’s a whole different game—and a chance to explore a different part of my wardrobe. Decisions, decisions! In the end, I went with my latest preloved find, and I couldn’t have been happier. It was cute, comfortable, and most importantly, felt completely event-appropriate. A win all around!
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS➕ TANK ➕ CASHMERE SWEATER ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…Saturday was a mission—I tackled the shops with all three kids to hunt down Christmas tees for them. Let’s just say I regretted not starting my search online! Shopping at this time of year is so overwhelming, which is exactly why I’m such a fan of online shopping. But we survived the chaos and walked away with three Christmas tees—success!
The cooler weather called for my trusty wide-leg jeans, easily one of my favourite preloved finds this year. I paired them with a simple black tank and sandals for a comfortable, practical look. When I needed an extra layer, my preloved green Uniqlo cashmere sweater was the perfect choice. It added just the right touch of festive cheer for putting up the Christmas tree and settling in for a couple of Christmas movies—because who can resist a cosy festive film?
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕TEE➕ SWEATER ➕ BARN COAT
outfit links, Orvis barn coat (bought Preloved via eBay)
Outfit details…Sunday morning was wonderfully relaxed—so chilled, in fact, that we had a Christmas movie playing before 9 a.m.! Later, we headed out to watch my eldest’s cricket game. With the field right by the bay, it was pretty chilly, so I took the opportunity to wear a new purchase I didn’t think I’d get to debut until autumn.
I’m not one to chase trends—I much prefer to focus on my personal style and what suits me. But every so often, a trend comes along that feels like it was made for me, and the barn jacket was one of those. I’d been on the hunt for the one for a while when I spotted @natalieborton wearing a preloved Orvis jacket she’d picked up. Inspired, I searched eBay, and this gem popped up. I’m completely obsessed! It’s classic, practical, and fits seamlessly into my wardrobe—definitely worth the wait.
In the afternoon, we headed to a school picnic, and the weather was absolutely glorious! With the sun shining, I swapped out my sweater and jacket for my trusty black short-sleeved linen shirt, paired with my brown Assembly Label sandals. A large tote bag was a must to carry all the kids’ things—practical and stylish for a relaxed afternoon in the sun.
