Everything I wore last week | 29
A week of hot weather looks, two skirts I wore to the office and an outfit I wore for a night at the theatre!
Hello lovely readers!
Melbourne’s weather was all over the place last week! We kicked off with a heatwave, with temperatures nearing 40 degrees, only for things to cool down dramatically by the end of the week, complete with huge gusts of wind. It definitely kept me on my toes in the wardrobe department!
Looking back on the outfits I wore, there were a few favourites that stood out. That Bohemian Traders dress made another appearance (because it’s just that good), and I mixed things up with a couple of skirts—a refreshing change from my usual rotation of pants and shorts.
But enough about the weather—let’s dive into ‘Everything I Wore Last Week’!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN MINI SHIFT DRESS ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…Another Monday, another chance to wear this black linen mini shift dress! It’s been an absolute summer staple for me. This time, I refreshed the look with a new tan leather crossbody, which paired perfectly with my brown Assembly Label sandals. It was the ideal, easy outfit for a 39-degree day spent WFH and picking up my parents from the airport—they’ve just flown in from the UK for a few weeks!
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = MAXI LINEN SKIRT ➕BLACK LINEN ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details: Dressing for a scorching day outside but a freezing office can be tricky, but I leaned on my Dissh linen maxi skirt—it always feels so special and elevated. I paired it with my relaxed black short-sleeved linen shirt, a staple I’ve had for years, and together the look felt effortless. My wedge sandals added a polished touch, tying everything together with the black shirt and leather tote.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕WHITE LINEN TOP ➕ SWEATER➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…On Wednesday, I worked from home before heading out to meet my parents for a delicious lunch. With the temps dropping slightly, I reached for my favorite wide-leg jeans and paired them with a lovely white linen cami I was recently gifted by Montaigne Paris (an Aussie brand). I absolutely loved this casual pairing—so simple yet chic—and I can already tell it’s going to be a go-to for the foreseeable future!
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WHITE MAXI POPLIN SKIRT ➕CROPPED TEE ➕ADIDAS SAMBAS
Outfit Details…I decided to switch things up with another skirt for a day in the office—this time, my bargain find from Assembly Label: a white poplin maxi skirt that’s such a great alternative to pants. I paired it with my cropped striped tee, a combo I’ve worn before, making it an easy, repeatable look for a day packed with meetings. To finish it off, I reached for my green Sambas, which added a nice pop of contrasting color to the black and white.
Later in the evening, I had a hair appointment and ended up changing into my go-to outfit from Wednesday: wide-leg jeans and the white linen cami. Reliable and comfortable!
FRIDAY DAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LEGGINGS ➕ TEE ➕SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…With the kids back at school, I took the chance to grab an iced chai latte with my dad and head down to the beach for a walk before starting work. I didn’t put too much thought into my outfit—just reached for pieces that were comfy and practical for walking. These Lululemon Align leggings are a longtime favourite of mine—so supportive and such a great fit. I paired them with a simple white tee and my neutral New Balance 327s for an easy, no-fuss look.
I wouldn’t usually wear this type of outfit all day, but with a busy day WFH and evening plans ahead, it was the perfect comfy option to get me through!
FRIDAY NIGHT
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕ OVERSIZED DENIM JACKET ➕SANDALS
Outfit Details…I finally got to see Tina: The Musical with my mum, and it was everything I hoped for and more! Dinner at one of my favourite Melbourne spots, Chin Chin, followed by a night at the theatre—it doesn’t get better than that. Tina was absolutely phenomenal, easily the best theatre production I’ve ever seen. If you’re in Melbourne, I highly recommend it!
I knew this beautiful dress from Bohemian Traders would be perfect for a night out in the city after wearing it a couple of weeks ago. This time, I styled it a little differently with black accessories—a black oversized denim jacket, black sandals, and a tan crossbody bag to tie it all together. A simple yet elevated look for an unforgettable night!
SATURDAY DAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN PANTS ➕ CROPPED LINEN TOP ➕ DENIM SHACKET ➕SANDALS

Outfit Details…a lazy Saturday and a beach picnic called for an easy, comfortable linen outfit. I went with my black wide-leg linen pants and a moss green cropped linen top. Since it was a little cooler, I threw on my denim shacket, which has been a summer staple for me—it’s effortless and practical all at once.
To finish off the look, I reached for my go-to accessories this season: an oversized tote bag and brown sandals that tied in perfectly with the earthy tones of the green top. Simple, laid-back, and just right for the day!
SATURDAY NIGHT
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ CAMI ➕LEATHER JACKET ➕SANDALS
Outfit Details…My parents are visiting from the UK, so we made the most of having live-in babysitters! My husband and I took the chance to sneak out for an impromptu date night at a local wine bar. It was so lovely to have some time together, sipping wine and nibbling on olives (feeling very fancy, I know!).
Since it was a spur-of-the-moment outing, I didn’t have time to plan my outfit, so I leaned into a fail-safe colour palette for nights out: all black. There’s something effortlessly chic and a little dressier about a head-to-toe black look, don’t you think? I kept it simple with my trusty Everlane black barrel jeans (seriously, if you’re on the hunt for barrel jeans, these are the ones) and paired them with a classic black cami I’ve had forever.
To elevate the look, I threw on my black leather jacket—it’s one of those pieces that instantly pulls an outfit together—and finished it off with a black bag and sandals. The whole look came together in minutes but felt perfect for the occasion. Sometimes, the simplest outfits really do the trick!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = PJ STYLE PANTS ➕ TEE ➕ SWEATER ➕ BIRKENSTOCKS
Outfit details…It was a nice, lazy Sunday spent watching my eldest play cricket, followed by coffee with the family. The temperatures have dropped a bit since the earlier heatwave, so layers were definitely needed.
Instead of reaching for my usual jeans (currently in the laundry in preparation for a trip next week), I opted for my striped PJ-style pants, which were such a versatile addition to my wardrobe last year. I paired Li them with a simple white tee from Sezane and a black crew-neck sweater for an easy, laid-back look. For footwear, I decided to switch things up from my usual sandals and went with my Birkenstock Bostons instead—and I’m so glad I did! The whole outfit came together perfectly for a relaxed Sunday vibe.
That’s a wrap on this week’s Substack! Thank you so much for reading and following along—I hope it’s sparked some outfit inspiration for the week ahead. If you have a friend who could use a little wardrobe refresh or styling ideas, feel free to share this Substack with them.
Make sure to keep an eye out for next week’s edition, where I’ll be sharing all the outfits I’m wearing during my time in Byron Bay! See you then!
Until next time!
