Everything I wore last week | 44
A jam-packed week—fresh hair, rediscovering old favourites in my wardrobe, leaning into non-denim outfits, and a weekend away to top it all off!
Hello lovely readers!
Last week was a busy one—and a true dive into cold-weather dressing, which I’m absolutely here for. There’s something so effortlessly chic about throwing on a big coat, especially a long wool one that does all the heavy lifting.
In my previous ‘Everything I Wore Last Week’ roundup, I was living in jeans daily. So this time, I made a conscious effort to mix things up and reach for some different pieces. Keep an eye out for a silk maxi slip dress and the corduroy barrel pants I’ve been loving lately!
We also snuck away to Bright in the High Country over the weekend—think rolling hills, falling autumn leaves, and golden light. It’s one of our favourite places to visit in Victoria, and it didn’t disappoint.
Let’s dive into a full recap of what I wore—let me know which look is your favourite!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS➕ SHIRT ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…. Monday was a work-from-home day, and with the sun shining, I made the most of not needing a coat! I’ve been pretty obsessed with shirts lately, but this time I switched things up a little—layering one under a simple crew neck sweater. It turned out to be the perfect way to stay warm and skip the jacket. I styled it with my darker wash wide-leg jeans and ecru Converse high-tops, and I really liked how the whole look came together. Black sunnies finished it off nicely and helped tie in the black from the sweater.
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ CAMI ➕ BLOUSE ➕ LOAFERS
Outfit Details… I was totally inspired by an outfit from
that I’d saved a while back—finally gave it a try! I started with a black base: my favourite black-wash barrel jeans from Everlane and a beautiful black lace blouse from Sezane. I usually reserve the blouse for dressier occasions, but layering a black cami underneath made it feel much more office-appropriate.I threw on my Assembly Label trench and added my new black crocodile loafers from Sezane (honestly, I’m so in love with them!). I’ve been eyeing a pair of loafers for what feels like forever, and I’m so glad I waited for the perfect pair. Finished the look with my latest work bag obsession—it doubles as a backpack and a tote, which feels like a bit of a game-changer.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = SILK SLIP DRESS ➕SWEATER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ BOOTS
Outfit Details…I was in the city for a workshop on Wednesday, and I always love heading into Melbourne—it’s such a fun, vibrant place (even in the rain!). The week before, I found myself defaulting to jeans as the weather cooled, so this time I wanted to lean into outfit formulas that didn’t revolve around denim.
I’ve been meaning to try this look for a while, but needed the right weather for it. I hadn’t worn this silk maxi slip dress in ages, but pairing it with my charcoal alpaca sweater made it feel much more wearable. Slip dresses can sometimes make me feel a little self-conscious around the tummy (even with shapewear), so layering a sweater over the top was the perfect solution for comfort and style.
To break up the black and grey base, I added my rust-caramel wool coat and finished the look with my comfy black leather boots—perfect for walking around the city all day.
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JOGGERS ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ QUILTED COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
outfit details
Outfit Details… This is one of my go-to practical, warm morning walk looks—and it’s exactly what I threw on Thursday for a quick walk along the headland after school drop-off.
A simple monochrome base of black joggers and a sweater, layered with my fun quilted Stella Nova coat. Finished with New Balance sneakers and I was all set!
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ SWEATER ➕ LOAFERS
Outfit Details…After my morning walk, I changed into this look for a day working from home—and with a long-overdue hair appointment after work, I wanted to look a little more presentable! My dark pure blue barrel jeans made another appearance, this time paired with a preloved Varley sweater I hadn’t reached for in a while—and honestly, I’m not sure why. I love the oversized button detail; it feels just a little more polished than your average knit.
I couldn’t resist wearing my new Sezane loafers again—they instantly elevated the whole outfit. To keep the vibe a little more casual, I added my large textured tote, which brought in a bit of contrast. Hair tied back (something I never do, but ended up loving!) plus black sunnies and simple gold jewellery to finish.
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL CORDUROY PANTS ➕ CAMI ➕ CARDIGAN ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…Who’s this with the fresh chop?!
Yep, I went for a good snip and I’m absolutely loving the new short hair—if you haven’t seen it in motion yet, head over to my latest reel!
And what’s almost as good as a fresh haircut? A new pair of pants, of course. I popped into COS recently in search of a denim alternative, and they had so many great options. I ended up choosing these brown corduroy barrel pants—the texture, the oversized silhouette, and the cosy fabric just felt so right for the cooler months ahead.
Truthfully, I find denim super easy to style, but the minute I switch things up with colour on the bottom, I have a bit of a wardrobe wobble. So Friday morning I gave myself a moment to play, and this
-inspired outfit came together beautifully: navy blue Betty cardigan and my oversized charcoal wool coat layered over the top. I loved how those colours played together with the warm brown cord.I kept it casual with my ecru Converse and finished the look with my chocolate suede bag—which paired so nicely with the pants. Definitely a combo I’ll be repeating soon.
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = FLARED JEANS ➕ SHIRT ➕ SWEATER ➕ QUILTED COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…We drove the 4 hours up to Bright on Friday night to spend the weekend with our lovely friends (keep an eye out for my packing list—going live this week!). Saturday was one of those perfect, sunny winter days, so we all headed out for a walk up Mount Buffalo… though it turned out to be more of a scramble in parts—think hands-and-knees kind of steep! In hindsight, leggings, hiking boots and a fleece would have been much more practical…
That said, for everything else the day held—playground stop, drinks in the beer garden, and dinner at the pub later—this outfit was just right. I dressed for warmth and comfort: flared wide-leg jeans, a button-up shirt (again!), alpaca sweater, sneakers, and my favourite quilted coat.
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS➕ CARDIGAN ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit details…Another beautiful, sunny (but cold!) Sunday in Bright, so I made sure to layer up for a walk along the river before we headed into town for a spot of lunch. Then it was time to say goodbye to our friends and hit the road—4 hours back to Melbourne!
I got more wear out of my new Assembly Label wide-leg jeans in the darker wash, paired with my warm, snuggly Sézane Gaspard cardigan in caramel. I love this piece—so easy to style. A little French tuck, one button undone, and it feels effortlessly put-together. I wore my ecru Converse again and threw on my oversized charcoal wool coat for an extra layer of warmth.
