Everything I wore last week | 42
Need ultra-comfy outfit inspo? Here’s a week of looks I wore while under the weather—plus two weekend fits I’m loving!
Hello lovely Substack readers!
The week started strong with an early morning reformer Pilates class, but quickly took a turn with a sick little one — and, true to mum life, I came down with it too! So my Monday to Friday outfits were all about comfort and ease; I didn’t have the energy to think beyond basics.
Something that’s been on my mind lately is perimenopause and personal style, and this week I finally opened up about it on Instagram. I was blown away by how many of you related — more to come on that soon.
By the weekend, I was finally feeling better and so ready to ditch the joggers. I pulled together two looks I’m obsessedwith! A definite highlight was receiving a beautiful new pair of shoes from female-owned
— brown suede, stylish and comfy (basically my dream combo). I couldn’t wait to wear them — you’ll see them in Sunday’s outfit! Here’s a full recap of last week’s outfits — let me know your fave!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕ STRIPED SWEATER ➕ BARN COAT ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…I had a great start to the week with a super early reformer class—it set the tone and left me feeling ready to tackle Monday head-on. I headed home to quickly get ready, as I had plans to meet a friend for coffee before starting work.
Since I was working from home for the rest of the day, I wanted an outfit that felt comfortable but still put together. I started with my new wide-leg jeans from Assembly Label and built the look from there, pairing them with my favourite oversized striped sweater. I tried on a couple of jackets but ultimately settled on my vintage Orvis barn coat—such a classic. I finished the outfit with Converse high-tops and my tan leather bag, and I was good to go!
Those plans quickly shifted when I got back—my little one wasn’t feeling 100%, so I went straight into mum-mode. The rest of the day was spent cuddled up on the sofa. I didn’t feel like lounging in jeans, so I quickly swapped them for joggers and a cosy sweater for ultimate comfort.
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JOGGERS ➕TEE ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ OVERSIZED WOOL COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…after an unsettled night with my littlest one (complete with a pre-7am sick clean-up 😅), I was in no mood to pull an outfit together. So, I went for my go-to on days like this: black joggers and a matching crew neck sweater. Honestly, it's the easiest way to look like you made an effort when you’re running on fumes — highly recommend!
It turned out to be such a beautiful day, and by lunchtime, I was craving some fresh air (and a nap for the little one!), so my husband and I headed out for a walk. I threw on my trusty Assembly Label wool coat — I’ve had it for a couple of years now, and I still love it just as much. It’s warm, classic, and perfect for layering on those slightly chilly days. Finished it off with my brown Adidas SL72s for that comfy, casual vibe.
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = SWEATER ➕ JOGGERS
Foxwood track pants & zip crew sweater
Outfit Details…I think this might be the first time since starting my weekly style diaries that I’ve combined multiple days into one post—because I wore the exact same thing both days. Truthfully, I felt dreadful and barely managed to get dressed before lunchtime. But this (kindly gifted) loungewear set from Foxwood was just what I needed—comfy enough for resting, but still pulled-together enough to lift my mood a little.
I’ve always loved a matching set. They’re such an effortless way to feel styled without having to think too hard about it. For reference, I’m wearing my usual size 8 in both the joggers and the half-zip sweater.
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕ SWEATER ➕ BARN JACKET ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…Friday I was back working from home. I still wasn’t feeling 100%, but I made the effort to get dressed—I knew it would give me a little boost to get through the day. I kept things comfy with wide-leg jeans and a sweater (one of my favourite autumn outfit formulas). I popped out at lunchtime and threw on my vintage Orvis barn coat to add a bit of interest, plus my trusty Sézane tote for a quick stop at the post office.
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ STRIPED SHIRT ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ BOOTS
Outfit Details…after a pretty average week of getting dressed, I came back strong over the weekend! Saturday was grey and miserable, but I had to get out of the house—I was starting to get serious cabin fever. A lunchtime coffee and cake run was the perfect excuse to pull myself together. And you know what…? I bloody loved this outfit! I’m deep into an oversized shirt and jeans moment, and paired with my oversized wool coat and the first outing of my boots this year, I was a pretty happy girl.
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = FLARED JEANS ➕ BLOUSE ➕ SWEATER ➕ TRENCH ➕MARY JANES

Outfit details…I had the best day on Sunday! I picked up my best friend and we headed down to the peninsula to check out Wore it Once, a secondhand fashion market. I love thrifting, and there were so many great stalls to browse. I tried on a few pieces, but ended up finding a cute white button-down from Country Road with the sweetest ruffled balloon sleeves — such a win and only $10!! After our little shop, we grabbed lunch (which was delicious).
Outfit-wise, I wore my new Uniqlo drapey jeans — I think these might be a new fave — paired with a Sezane blouse under my alpaca charcoal sweater for a soft, feminine twist. My trench coat was the perfect light layer, and I finished the look with suede Mary Jane flats from
