Everything I wore last week | 46
Style Diaries: A week of outfit indecision (saved by a Friday date night & easy Saturday look)
Hi everyone, and welcome back to everything I wore last week!
If I’m honest, last week felt a little off when it came to getting dressed — maybe it was the pre-period haze or just one of those weeks where nothing in my wardrobe felt quite right. I found myself second-guessing outfits I’d normally love and leaning heavily on old favourites and easy combos to get through the days.
But, as always, there were a few standouts that pulled things back: a last-minute dinner date on Friday gave me a chance to play dress-up again, and a relaxed Saturday outfit reminded me that even the comfiest pieces can feel elevated with the right layers.
Scroll on for the week’s outfits, a few styling thoughts, and some real-life moments thrown in — from WFH days to park dates and everything in between.
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS➕ TEE ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ BARN COAT ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…. It was a public holiday on Monday, and honestly, I wasn’t feeling my best. My energy was low, my hormones were all over the place (you know that week-before-your-period chaos?), and motivation was non-existent. All I wanted to do was hide under the covers—but that’s just not an option with three kids running around!
So, I turned to one thing that always gives me a little lift: getting dressed. And apparently, 95% of my Insta fam agrees—it really does help. Monday’s outfit wasn’t groundbreaking, but it was a big step up from the pyjamas I’d been wearing while tackling morning chores. I went with comfy wide-leg jeans and a basic black crew neck sweater—simple, easy. But when I threw on my barn coat, it pulled everything together and gave the look a bit of polish, without any extra effort.
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = SILK SLIP SKIRT ➕OVERSIZED KNIT ➕ WOOL COAT➕ BOOTS
Outfit Details…On Tuesday morning, I spotted my Realisation Par silk slip skirt tucked away in the wardrobe and had one of those “wait, why haven’t I worn this all summer?” moments. It’s been a longtime fave in my wardrobe, yet somehow it got totally overlooked the past few months. So I decided to give it a little love and style it up for a day at the office.
I paired it with my current knitwear obsession: the Roy oversized knit from Dissh. I’m really into that fitted-on-the-bottom, oversized-on-the-top vibe lately—playing with proportions is always fun and makes outfits feel more interesting. At first, I reached for my loafers, but something about the combo just didn’t click. I swapped them out for black leather boots instead, and yes—so much better. It made the whole look feel a bit more laid-back, which I loved. Oh, and the best part? The coat I threw on hit the exact same length as the skirt… a total match made in heaven.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕ POLO SWEATER➕ WOOL COAT ➕ BOOTS
Outfit Details…After the school drop-off, I had to swing by the post office — and of course, I couldn't resist a quick chai latte stop at my local café. Getting out early always gives me that extra nudge to actually get dressed for the day!
I kept things pretty relaxed since I was desk-bound for most of it, but still wanted to feel put-together. I wore my new striped polo sweater from Ceres Life, this time styled with flared wide-leg jeans. Blue and brown is one of my all-time favourite combos, so I layered on my caramel wool coat and finished the look with brown suede boots.
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ COLLAR SWEATER ➕ QULITED COAT ➕ LOAFERS
Outfit Details…busy Thursday in the office — so busy, in fact, this was the only outfit snap I managed to grab! Thursday morning rolled around and, honestly, nothing in my wardrobe was jumping out at me. When that happens, I always fall back on tried-and-true outfit formulas — outfit repeating really is a superpower when it comes to getting dressed.
I wore this base look — barrel jeans and a polo sweater — to the hairdresser a couple of weeks ago. This time, I swapped out the charcoal wool coat for my quilted one. I finished the look with my black Sézane loafers and the Emma bag from Republic of Florence (still completely obsessed with it as a work bag!). I think I preferred the outfit with the charcoal coat, but it’s always fun to try a different combo, isn’t it?
FRIDAY DAY LOOK
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕ TEE ➕ CARDIGAN ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…One of my all-time favourite outfit combos? Jeans and a tee. It’s such an underrated classic — I love how simple it is, but still so easy to elevate with a great bag, a pop of lipstick, or some gold jewellery.
Now that the cooler months are here, I always find myself missing the ease of warmer weather dressing. That was definitely the vibe of Friday’s outfit. The jeans and tee combo felt like a win, but the cardigan I threw on didn’t quite hit the mark. That said, I was working from home all day and didn’t leave the house, so... not the end of the world!
FRIDAY NIGHT LOOK
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ CAMI➕ BLAZER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ LOAFERS
Outfit Details…Date night in the city on Friday with my husband — and I’ve got to say, I love going out on a Friday night! It makes the weekend feel that little bit longer, don’t you think?
Usually, I have an outfit in mind because I love any excuse to dress up, but (like the rest of the week) I just couldn’t decide on what to wear. When that happens, I find the best thing to do is try on a few options and play around with my wardrobe until something clicks. I figured this might be helpful, so I filmed a little reel in case you’re in need of some dressier outfit inspo!
I ended up going with a look made entirely from pieces I wear regularly — proof that you don’t need a whole new wardrobe for a special occasion. Since it was freezing in Melbourne on Friday night, layering was key: I chose my barrel jeans (they just felt comfier), a black cami top, and my oversized blazer from Dissh. To break up the all-black and add some texture, I threw on my caramel wool coat. Finished it off with black loafers, a tan crossbody bag, and gold jewellery.
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL CORDUROY PANTS ➕ OVERSIZED SWEATER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…I think this might’ve been my favourite look of the week — and it’s probably no coincidence that the earlier days were right before my period (just me, or does getting dressed feel 10x harder then?). Nothing seemed to come together easily all week, but by Saturday I was feeling more like myself, and this outfit just worked with barely any effort.
These COS barrel pants are seriously so good — I paired them with my new knit from Dissh and loved the earthy, neutral combo. I threw on my charcoal wool coat for a bit of extra polish and kept it comfy with my Converse. Perfect look for a relaxed Saturday of op-shopping and lunch with the fam.
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LEGGINGS➕ TEE ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ QUILTED COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit details…It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday, so I took the kids out for a walk, stopped by the local café and shops, then headed to the park for a playdate with my littlest!
I knew it was going to be a chilled day with some household chores thrown in, so I reached straight for my Lululemon Align leggings and a black crew-neck sweater. I’ve said it before, but a monochrome two-piece instantly elevates even the simplest outfit. I threw on my quilted coat to pull the look together — minimal effort, but it still felt put-together and polished.
