Everything I wore last week | 30
Byron Bay edition! A roundup of all my outfits from the trip—plenty of linen and casual looks perfect for the hot weather!
Hello lovely readers!
Well, last week was a good one—not just in the outfit department, but also because I managed to escape Melbourne with my parents and littlest one for six days in Byron Bay! It was the perfect mix of relaxing (as much as you can with a toddler in tow) and exploring the area. The weather was pretty spectacular too…even if the humidity was a bit intense for me!
I have to admit, I get a real buzz from planning and packing for a trip. I love thinking about what we might get up to and making sure I’ve got a few outfit options—am I the only one?! If you’re like me, you’re in luck because I’m sharing a full roundup of everything I wore in Byron. Plus, keep an eye out for a detailed packing list and outfit inspo using the Indyx app coming later this week!

Alright, let’s dive into Everything I Wore Last Week: Byron Bay Edition!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS LINEN CAMI ➕ SANDALS
outfit links, Linen Cami top*, leather crossbody bag*
Outfit Details…. on Monday, we caught the 2-hour flight to spend six days in beautiful Byron Bay. Since Monday’s outfit needed to be travel-appropriate, I went for a mix of comfort and summer style (it was still pretty hot when we left Melbourne). I chose my comfiest jeans—my Arket Cloud wide-leg jeans—and paired them with a simple white linen cami and brown sandals. Knowing how unpredictable plane temperatures can be, I layered with a cashmere sweater and a denim shacket, keeping me prepared for whatever the flight threw my way.
TUESDAY
Day look
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTS➕BLACK LINEN CROPPED TOP➕ SANDALS
outfit links, leather crossbody bag*
Outfit Details…Tuesday was our first day exploring Byron, and with the hot and humid weather, I opted for my stone-wash denim shorts and a black cropped linen top to stay cool. It was the perfect combo for a coffee stop and some beach time jumping in the waves! I’m so glad I packed my Tevas—they were incredibly comfortable for all the walking, and the black colour went with everything effortlessly.
TUESDAY
Pool look
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTS➕SWIMSUIT➕ LINEN SHIRT ➕SANDALS
Outfit Details…to cool off in the afternoon, we headed to the pool, which called for a quick outfit change. I kept on my stone-wash denim shorts but swapped the black linen top for my light brown Hunza G swimsuit. I threw on my white linen shirt as a cover-up and grabbed my large tote bag, which was perfect for carrying all our swim essentials.
TUESDAY
Dinner look
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN MAXI DRESS ➕SANDALS
outfit links, leather crossbody bag*, maxi linen dress*
Outfit Details…quite possibly my favourite look of the holiday was this Montaigne Paris natural maxi linen dress. The moment I put it on, it felt effortlessly cool and chic. The dress really spoke for itself, so I kept the styling simple, letting it be the star of the show. I paired it with brown sandals, a matching crossbody leather bag, and minimal gold accessories. Sometimes less truly is more!
WEDNESDAY
Day look
OUTFIT FORMULA = LINEN DRESS ➕BIRKENSTOCKS
outfit details, linen mini shift dress*
Outfit Details…we took a ride on the local Byron Bay Solar Train—a charming 3km journey to North Beach that I’d highly recommend if you’re visiting the area! Even though I’m used to hot summer days in Melbourne, the humidity was on another level, and I was so glad I packed plenty of linen pieces to stay (somewhat) cool. This white shift mini dress was perfect for the sticky heat with its simple, breezy silhouette. Normally, I would’ve reached for one of the sandals I packed, but I decided to style the dress with my Birkenstock Bostons instead. I loved the laid-back, casual vibe it created, especially when paired with gold jewellery and my large tote bag.
WEDNESDAY
Pool look
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTS➕TWO PIECE➕ LINEN SHIRT ➕SANDALS
outfit links, linen shirt*, youswim two piece swimsuit - similar colour
Outfit Details…In the afternoon, my little one was desperate to get into the pool. I would’ve just thrown my dress back on, but it was absolutely filthy after a morning of toddler wrangling (though that never puts me off wearing white—it always washes out!). Instead, I opted for my trusty denim shorts and one of my favourite swimwear pieces from YouSwim (if you haven’t tried this brand, I highly recommend it!). Once again, my white linen shirt proved to be the perfect cover-up.
WEDNESDAY
Causal evening look
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTS➕ KNITTED TEE ➕SANDALS
Outfit Details…After our swim, my dad and I took a leisurely stroll to the supermarket to pick up some groceries for dinner. I quickly changed back into my denim shorts but styled them differently this time, opting for my cream knitted tee and brown sandals. It was an easy, relaxed look that was perfect for an evening walk.
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = COTTON SHORTS ➕BLACK TEE ➕ DENIM SHACKET ➕SANDALS
outfit details, leather crossbody bag*
Outfit Details…We woke up to a pretty epic thunderstorm in the early hours of Thursday morning, and it was still raining as we set off to explore the surrounding hinterland. Despite the wet weather, it was hot and humid, so although I initially threw on my denim shacket, it didn’t take long before I ditched it once we were out and about. This was one of the outfits I’d planned using the Indyx app before we left, and I loved how it all came together. I was thrilled to have recently rediscovered these Country Road shorts—they’re incredibly comfy and practical for a day of sightseeing. I paired them with my black tee, black Tevas, and my large tote bag, keeping the look cohesive and functional for a day of exploring.
FRIDAY
Day look
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS ➕ SANDALS
Outfit Details…Friday was another stunning day, and when I originally packed this Roame dress, I’d envisioned wearing it in the evening. But I had the urge to style it more casually for another day of exploring, and it totally worked. Paired simply with my brown Assembly Label sandals and my tote bag, it had the perfect effortless summer vibe—easy, breezy, and comfortable for a full day out.
FRIDAY
Causal evening look
OUTFIT FORMULA = COTTON PANTS ➕ TEE
outfit details, cotton striped pants (link gives you 15% and Daughters of India purchase*
Outfit Details…after a full day of exploring the beautiful areas around Byron Bay—including breathtaking views at Byron Lighthouse, splashing in the waves at picturesque Brunswick Heads, and unwinding at a cozy little wine bar in Lennox Heads—I was more than ready to change into something comfortable for a relaxing evening in. My Daughters of India pants were the perfect choice—light, airy, and incredibly comfortable. I paired them with my black tee for an effortless, laid-back look that was ideal for a quiet night at home.
SATURDAY
Day look
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTS ➕ CROPPED LINEN TOP ➕ SANDALS
outfit links, leather crossbody bag*, linen cropped top (moss green)
Outfit Details…with a few hours to spare before our evening flight, we made the most of our last moments in Byron—hitting a trendy café, enjoying a delicious lunch at Light Years, and relaxing next to the beach reading my book while the toddler napped. I considered wearing jeans for the flight and keeping them on all day but quickly realised it would be far too hot. Instead, I opted for my denim shorts paired with my favourite moss green linen cropped top from Not Perfect Linen. I kept it simple with brown sandals and a matching leather crossbody bag.
SATURDAY
Travel outfit
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ CROPPED LINEN TOO ➕CASHMERE SWEATER ➕ DENIM SHACKET ➕ SANDALS
outfit links, leather crossbody bag*
Outfit Details…I absolutely hate being cold on a flight, and knowing that Melbourne had some freezing weather waiting for us, I did a quick change out of my denim shorts into my Everlane barrel jeans before boarding. To avoid adding extra weight to my suitcase (anyone else do this?!), I layered up for the flight instead. I was glad I did because I ended up needing both my cashmere sweater and denim shacket—I was absolutely freezing when we got off the plane!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS➕ TEE ➕ SWEATER ➕SNEAKERS
outfit links, leather crossbody bag*
Outfit details…Melbourne really did insist on serving up the freezing weather on Sunday too, so I went straight for my wide leg Arket jeans and white tee and oversized knitted sweater. I secretly enjoyed wearing a sweater again, although I’m not going to wish the summer away too soon. There’s something effortlessly about an oversized knit!
That’s a wrap on this week’s Substack! Thanks so much for reading and following along. If you know someone who could use a little wardrobe refresh or some styling inspiration, feel free to share this Substack with them.
And don’t forget to keep an eye out for my upcoming Byron packing edition! I’ll be sharing my full packing list, the outfits I planned in advance using the Indyx app, and a breakdown of what I actually wore (and what stayed in the suitcase). You won’t want to miss it!
Until next time!
