Everything I wore last week | 45
This week’s looks included a workwear outfit featuring my beloved barrel pants (still obsessed!) and a couple of new knits from Dissh & Ceres Life that I couldn’t wait to wear.
Hello lovely readers! Happy Monday!
Last week marked the official start of winter here in Australia—and the weather definitely got the memo! Big coats, boots, and cosy knits were essential, and honestly, I felt so at ease dressing for the cooler days.
It was a full-on work week with off-site workshops and a fun content shoot on Thursday, so by the time the long weekend (thanks, King’s Birthday!) rolled around, I was more than ready for a bit of a breather.
I added a couple of new sweaters to my wardrobe last week and didn’t waste any time giving them a spin. One was a striped polo knit (see Friday’s look!), and the other was a Dissh piece I’d been eyeing for a while—so happy with how easily they slotted into my wardrobe.
I’ve also really been enjoying leaning into more non-denim looks lately—probably helped by the fact I only worked from home on Monday, so there were more reasons to get dressed up.
Anyway, here’s a full recap of what I wore last week—let me know which outfit was your fave!
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ LACE BLOUSE ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…. Monday was a work-from-home day, and after a weekend away in Bright, I was totally shattered. I didn’t have an outfit planned when I woke up, but I did feel like wearing my black leather boots. They always pair so well with my barrel-leg jeans, so that combo was a no-brainer.
From there, I built the rest of the outfit around those two pieces. I usually save my lace Sézane blouse for dressier occasions, but this time I layered it under a super simple grey crew neck sweater—and honestly, I loved the result. The peek of lace added just the right amount of detail and helped pull the black through the whole look for something that felt polished but still comfortable.
To finish it off (and break up the dark tones), I threw on my caramel wool coat. Black and caramel together? Always a yes for me. All up: comfy, pulled-together, and an outfit I’ll 100% be repeating.
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = MIDI SKIRT ➕ ALPACA SWEATER ➕ TRENCH ➕ LOAFERS
Outfit Details… Tuesday was day one of a two-day off-site workshop for work, and I took it as a chance to play with a different outfit formula. Instead of defaulting to my usual pants (which I always seem to reach for), I started with my black midi skirt. I’ve been trying to mix things up a bit this winter and make better use of what’s already in my wardrobe.
I paired the skirt with my well-loved Everlane alpaca sweater—an absolute gem of a Depop find—and decided to test-drive my Sézane loafers with a skirt for the first time. Honestly? I really liked how it all came together—simple, a little unexpected for me, and still very me. I didn’t need anything super warm since I was just dashing from the car to the hotel, so I threw on my trench. It added just the right layer without overdoing it. All in all, a comfy, pulled-together look that felt like a little style win.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL PANTS ➕CARDIGAN➕ WOOL COAT ➕ MARY JANES
Outfit Details…Wednesday was day two of the workshop, and honestly? I went straight for the outfit I wore the previous Friday (which doubled as a WFH/travel look). I’ve never had a dedicated “work wardrobe”—I much prefer to wear what I love and just play around with ways to elevate it. It means more wear out of what I already own, and I still feel like me.
I kept the core outfit exactly the same: my COS barrel-leg pants, navy cardigan, and charcoal wool coat. But I switched up the shoes and bag to give it a little refresh. Instead of sneakers, I wore my gorgeous chocolate brown suede Mary Janes from Ally Shoes—so comfy but just that little bit dressier. And I paired them with my new favourite go-to work bag (always a confidence booster when your bag feels right!)
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = FLARED JEANS ➕ STRIPED SWEATER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…Thursday was another full workday out and about—this time on a content shoot, which was so much fun. There’s something really satisfying about seeing all the shots come together! I knew I’d be running around a fair bit, helping out with the setup and getting content, so comfort was key.
Enter my flared wide-leg jeans—lightweight, easy to move in, and just so comfy. I paired them with my oversized striped Arket sweater (because honestly, who doesn’t love a good stripe?). To bring in some warmth, I pulled in brown tones with my Adidas SL72s, my caramel wool coat (yes, again—such a go-to), and my Arket brown suede tote.
The browns didn’t match perfectly, but that’s the beauty of it—mixing similar tones adds depth without feeling too matchy-matchy. I topped it all off with a dark grey scarf because, let’s be real, it was freezing Thursday morning and I was more than ready to dive into a warm car.
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕ STRIPED POLO SWEATER ➕ BOMBER JACKET ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…I’d been so looking forward to Friday after a hectic work week—and it didn’t disappoint. I spent the day with my two youngest, and we headed to Chadstone for lunch, a movie (the new Lilo & Stitch—so good!), and a bit of shopping. Not gonna lie, I definitely had a few tears during the film… Disney still gets me!
Since we were doing a mix of sitting, walking, and mall-wandering (seriously, why are shopping centres always so hot?!), I went for a comfy but cool outfit. A Ceres Life parcel had landed on my doorstep Thursday, and—true to form—I couldn’t wait to wear something new. I threw on the striped polo sweater straight away and instantly loved it. It added just the right pop of colour while still feeling totally me.
I paired it with dark wash wide-leg jeans and my ecru Converse (which picked up the cream in the sweater perfectly). I knew the cinema might be chilly, so I layered my grey bomber jacket on top, just in case. Finished the look with a brown leather crossbody bag—and we were off!
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = LEGGINGS ➕ TEE ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…we’d earmarked Saturday to tackle my eldest son’s bedroom—we’re in the middle of redecorating, so it was time for a proper clear-out. Comfort and practicality were top priorities, so I didn’t bother trying to put together anything fancy.
My go-to Lululemon Align leggings were perfect for the job—super comfy and easy to move in. I paired them with a fresh tee (a little Uniqlo find from Friday’s shopping trip!) and threw on my trusty grey crew neck sweater… again. Totally fine for a day at home and hit the brief perfectly. Later, we made a quick trip to Bunnings, so I just layered my oversized charcoal coat on top, added socks and sneakers, and suddenly it felt like a real outfit. Honestly, it’s amazing how a good coat can pull the simplest pieces together and make you feel instantly more put-together—even if you're just heading out for hardware.
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ OVERSIZED KNIT ➕ QUILTED COAT ➕ BROWN SUEDE BOOTS
Outfit details…It was a pretty miserable day in Melbourne on Sunday (classic long weekend weather, of course), but the moment we spotted a glimmer of blue sky, we decided to make the most of it. We drove about 30 minutes to Camberwell to check out the Sunday market—it was so nice just mooching around, even if I didn’t end up finding anything. We wrapped it up with cake and coffee at a local café, which honestly made the whole outing.
I kept my outfit cosy and casual—dark wash barrel jeans and a new knit I picked up during Friday’s Chadstone trip with the kids: the Dissh Roy knit in the natural colourway. I’ve been wanting to add a few new knits to my winter rotation (since I basically live in them for half the year!), and this one was an instant yes—made even sweeter with 20% off! I finished the look with my brown suede boots, a tan leather crossbody bag, and the pièce de résistance: my quilted Stella Nova coat. Still obsessed.

What I packed (& wore) for weekend away in Bright
We couldn’t wait to hit the road and head 4 hours north to visit our lovely friends in Bright — one of our absolute favourite spots in regional Victoria. Tucked away in the High Country, Bright has a bit of magic about it… the kind of place that makes you slow down and soak it all in. The views? Breathtaking. The town? So charming, with something for ev…
