Everything I wore last week | 47
After an off week, I found my style groove again — thanks to one simple accessory that totally changed how I felt getting dressed this week—and I’m officially obsessed.
Hello lovely readers!
Last week felt like a bit of a style reset—in the best way. I leaned into some outfit formulas I’ve had saved for ages and finally played around with recreating them using pieces I already had in my wardrobe. There’s something so satisfying about giving new life to old favourites, don’t you think?
Also… the scarf obsession is very real right now. I reached for one a few times through the week, and it’s amazing how much a simple scarf can pull a look together or elevate something basic. Expect to see a few different versions pop up over the coming weeks!
Let’s get into what I wore—and what worked (or didn’t!)—over the past few days.
MONDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS➕ TEE ➕ SWEATER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ LOAFERS
Outfit Details…. Monday was a work-from-home day, and honestly, I didn’t step outside until school pickup in the afternoon. Still, I got ready in the morning without giving it much thought—just threw on a simple jeans-and-sweater combo. My alpaca sweater kept me super warm (thankfully, because it was freezing out there!).
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: having a few great coats in winter can completely transform even the most basic outfit with zero effort. I reached for my loafers—they were the first pair I could find—and grabbed a scarf last minute because the cold was no joke. I loved this colour combo last year, and it’s still just as good this season. Sometimes the easy outfits are the best ones!
TUESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = FLARED JEANS ➕STRIPED SHIRT ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit Details…Tuesday was a bit of a scramble. I had a full-day work workshop and needed to head out early—but my outfit just wasn’t coming together. Ugh, I hate those chaotic mornings! You know the ones... nothing feels right, time’s ticking, and you're just standing there surrounded by rejected clothes.
I started with jeans, a shirt, and my sleeveless knitted vest, but it wasn’t giving. I do want to style that vest properly for cooler days—but Tuesday wasn’t that day! In the end, I threw together this look. It wasn’t my favourite of the week, but I ran out of time and had to roll with it. It felt a little too casual—maybe I’ll try swapping the shoes next time.
One thing I did love? This coat from Foxwood Clothing. I’ve been reaching for my darker wool coats lately, but this lighter colour was such a nice change. Definitely a piece I want to wear more as the weather cools.
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL PANTS ➕ TEE ➕ BLAZER ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ LOAFERS
Outfit Details…On Wednesday, I decided to step things up a little and lean into more of a polished workwear vibe. I’ve had this outfit idea saved for a while now—barrel pants, a classic white tee, and an oversized blazer—and finally gave it a go. And honestly? I really liked how it turned out.
I know oversized-on-oversized can feel a bit risky, but the proportions actually worked! The relaxed silhouette of the pants balanced nicely with the structure of the blazer, and layering my charcoal wool coat over the top kept everything warm (because it’s still freezing). I liked how the whole look felt elevated but not overdone.
The corduroy barrel pants on their own lean a bit casual, but paired with the blazer and some classic loafers, the outfit instantly felt office-appropriate. Definitely a combo I’ll reach for again—smart, comfy, and just a little bit cool.
THURSDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ TEE ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ TRENCH ➕ BOOTS
Outfit Details…I’ve had this outfit formula saved for a while and finally got around to trying it—and I’m so glad I did! It’s super simple: just a grey crew neck sweater and a scarf. I recreated the look using pieces I already had in my wardrobe, which is always a win, and it gave me the perfect excuse to wear this little green triangle scarf I picked up from Ceres Life a couple of weeks ago.
I loved how the scarf instantly elevated the crew neck—such a small detail, but it made the whole outfit feel more polished and intentional. I paired it with my black barrel jeans, then threw on my trench to break up the simplicity, and finished it off with my black leather boots to pull everything together. It felt classic but cool, and definitely a look I’ll be repeating!
FRIDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = WIDE LEG JEANS ➕ TEE➕ DENIM SHACKET ➕ WOOL COAT ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…I had the day off with my littlest one on Friday, and he got to pick our adventure—which meant a train ride, a visit to a local café (babyccino for him, chai latte for me!), a stop at the toy store, and a play at the park. Honestly, the most perfect day.
Since I knew we’d be out and about, I made sure to wrap up—it was sunny but definitely cold. I’d been wanting to try a double denim look I had in mind, and this felt like the perfect chance. I went with my dark-wash wide-leg jeans and paired them with a lighter-wash denim shacket to break things up. It’s a great way to try double denim without feeling like you're in a full denim suit!
I threw on my oversized wool coat over the top and kept it comfy with my black high-top Converse—always a reliable option when I know we’ll be walking around a lot. I really loved how this outfit came together. Definitely one I’ll repeat… maybe next time I’ll switch out the shoes for something a bit dressier to elevate the look a touch!
SATURDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS ➕ KNIT ➕ BARN JACKET ➕ CONVERSE
Outfit Details…I think this might have been my favourite look of the week—and yes, the scarf obsession continued! This time, I pulled out a cute little earthy-toned one I got as a freebie from Sézane. My daughter even gave it her seal of approval, so I knew I was onto a winner!
I styled it with my barrel jeans and an oversized knit from Dissh. Lately, I’ve been reaching for my longer wool coats, but on Saturday I felt like switching it up and went with my vintage Orvis barn coat instead—and I totally loved the earthy, neutral tones together.
I’ve also been living in my black or ecru Converse, but decided to go with my sandy pair this time to tie everything together. The whole look had a subtle Frenchy vibe... and honestly? I didn’t hate it one bit!
SUNDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = JOGGERS ➕ CREW NECK SWEATER ➕ TEE➕ QUILTED COATS ➕ SNEAKERS
Outfit details…Sunday was the most perfect family day out. So often we get caught up in chores, sports, and everything that piles up during the week—but this time, we made the most of the beautiful sunny weather and headed down the peninsula for a bush walk and lunch at one of our favourite little general stores. It was such a great day—exactly what we all needed!
For my outfit, I kept it warm and comfy. As usual, I reached for my matching black sweat set—honestly, if in doubt, a matching set and a great coat is always a winning combo. I threw on my vintage Stella Nova coat, which is such a show pony and instantly elevated the whole look. For shoes, I went with my New Balance sneakers—figured I didn’t need full-on walking boots, and they ended up being perfect for the day.
