Everything I wore last week | 19
A Week of Minimalist, Practical Outfits: Featuring an Entire Secondhand Look, the Perfect Black Midi Dress, and How a Wardrobe App Made Friday's Outfit Decision a Breeze
Last week wasn’t as hectic as the one before, but I just couldn’t seem to find my groove and was lacking that usual drive to get things done. I think it took me longer to recover from all the social events than I expected – definitely a sign I’m not as young as I used to be! 😅 On a brighter note, the sun has been out for most of the week, and it’s got me so excited for all the warm-weather outfits I’ve been planning. A couple of new pieces arrived last week, and to say I’m obsessed would be an understatement—one from Arket and another from Sézane, two of my absolute favourite brands. Keep an eye on my Insta for all the details.
I’m also starting to brainstorm my party season looks—always a bit tricky living in Australia, but I’m excited to share my ideas! I’ll be putting together a special Substack soon with all the details, so stay tuned! And finally, one last thought before I dive into what I wore last week – I’ve been seriously thinking about going shorter with my hair, something like Polly Sayer’s cut. What do you think? Should I take the plunge??!!
MONDAYÂ
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS âž• LINEN SHIRT âž• SWEATER âž• SANDALS

Outfit Details… Monday was an office day for me, which tends to be pretty quiet, so I kept it casual with jeans and a linen shirt. To make the outfit a bit more office-appropriate, I added a few styling touches. I cuffed my jeans and slipped on a pair of wedge heels from Hush Puppies—super comfy, by the way (these were a previous gift). I draped my favourite cashmere sweater over my shoulders for a touch of coziness, and to bring in some texture, I finished the look with my brown suede Arket tote for all the work essentials. Simple, yet polished!
TUESDAYÂ
OUTFIT FORMULA = BLACK MIDI DRESS âž• OVERSIZED DENIM JACKET âž• WOVEN FLATSÂ Â
Outfit Details… I couldn’t resist wearing my new Saint & Sofia Ivy black midi dress (PR gifted) – it’s such a versatile piece and perfect for a day at the office. I’m all about re-wearing items, and one of my favourite tricks to keep things feeling fresh is mixing up how I style them. For this office day, I paired the dress with my oversized black Levi's Trucker jacket and added some contrast with my preloved, secondhand St Agni woven flats in dark tan, which helped break up the black and add a bit of warmth to the look. Simple, but still interesting!
WEDNESDAY
OUTFIT FORMULA = DRESS âž• DENIM JACKET  ➕ SANDALS ➕ Â
Outfit Details… I love looking back at my outfits while writing this weekly Substack and realising that an entire look was sourced secondhand! A few years ago, I made a conscious decision to be more thoughtful about my wardrobe, and shopping preloved has been a key part of that journey toward making more sustainable fashion choices. Wednesday’s WFH outfit was a perfect example – everything was from Depop! The buttoned Varlet sweater, Arket Cloud jeans, and Teva black sandals all came from secondhand finds. It was the perfect cosy combo to grab my morning chai latte, even on a rainy day!
THURSDAYÂ Â
OUTFIT FORMULA = BARREL JEANS âž• SHIRT âž• SWEATER âž• TRENCH âž• SNEAKERS / SANDALS

Outfit Details… Is it just me, or does anyone else start the day in one outfit and then keep tweaking it to keep up with the ever-changing weather? I find myself doing this even more when I’m working from home. I kicked off the morning in my Everlane Barrel jeans and a Sezane white button-down shirt—such a simple base that’s easy to adjust as the day goes on! To drop the kids off at school, I added my trench coat and Adidas Sambas. But when I got home, the house was still a bit chilly, so I threw on my grey sweater. By the time it was school pickup, the sun had come out, and it was pretty warm, so I swapped out the sweater for sandals! Which version do you prefer? I think the final one was my favourite – relaxed, summery looks are always a win!
FRIDAYÂ Â
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS âž• TEE âž• SWEATER âž• SANDALSÂ
Outfit Details…I ended up wearing the same outfit on Sunday that I wore on Friday, as I needed something quick and easy that day—I was running late getting three kids out the door and off to school and daycare! I’ve been using the Indyx app to track my daily outfits, and it made it so easy to scroll through my previous looks and find something that worked. I settled on this combo: lighter wash jeans and my favourite preloved knitted sweater, which made for an effortlessly chic look that carried me through the day. I’m loving pairing sweaters with sandals and trying to make the most of it before the summer heat fully kicks in! It was the perfect outfit for an evening stroll to grab ice cream with my little one!
SATURDAYÂ Â
OUTFIT FORMULA = DENIM SHORTSâž• STRIPED TEEÂ Â âž• SANDALS

Outfit Details… Oh wow, Saturday was a scorcher in Melbourne, and I was solo parenting my youngest while my two older kids and hubby were off on a camping trip. We kept things low-key and headed out for brunch at a local café before the heat really kicked in. On hot days, I always gravitate towards shorts—they might not be everyone’s thing, but I find them so comfortable and practical, especially when I’m running around after the kids! I wore my preloved Dissh stone-wash shorts (I’m loving this colour) and paired them with a striped crop tee and my brown Assembly Label sandals. To finish the look, I grabbed my woven tote bag and Arms of Eve bucket hat for that relaxed, natural vibe.
SUNDAYÂ Â
OUTFIT FORMULA = JEANS âž• STRIPED SHIRT âž• SWEATER âž• SNEAKERS
Outfit details… After a scorching day and a sticky night, the temperature finally cooled down a bit by the time we got up (though I must say, 5:30am is not my preferred wake-up time... thanks to my youngest for the early rise!). He made the most of the walk to the café by napping in the pram, and I wasn’t complaining—got to enjoy my chai latte in peace and catch up on writing my Substacks! In true Melbourne fashion, a cool change hit us like a wrecking ball as soon as we left the café. I had a feeling my outfit—wide-leg jeans, a short-sleeved striped shirt, and a crew-neck sweater tied around my waist—might be a bit warm, But I was smugly pleased with myself as I walked home, feeling perfectly comfortable in the end—well, except for the hurricane-style winds that suddenly picked up!

Last week was a BUSY one! It’s definitely starting to feel like silly season as we move towards summer – it’s a crazy time but it’s my absolute favourite season living in Australia - summer, Christmas and lots of socials gatherings, it’s the best! Last week however, I may have slightly overcommitted to social events: Cup Day celebrations, a city dinner,…
